You have been WARNED!!!! If you are passing through Monticello MN and you see the KFC sign, consider that it should be a warning. The first thing you will notice is the lack of cars in the parking lot, this is mostly because the locals have totally given up on the place. The second thing you will notice is that you may lose a tire in any of the pot holes that have been there for years. If you are daring enough to walk in to the store you will be warned by the smell of old grease. Look around and you can tell that no one has bothered to wipe down a table, the only question you should have is hours, or days since they last cleaned the dining area. You can peek at the buffet and notice that the green beans gave up being anything but green hours ago, and some of the other items have a crust or film on them that makes you wonder if it should be considered safe for human consumption. The chicken on the buffet has a nice orange crust on that has dried and make it look like yesterday’s chicken or maybe it is the Colonel’s new pumpkin seasoning. You are brave since the sign says outside that it is under new management and place your order off the menu in hopes that it would be better than the 2-day left over buffet. You place an order for two big boxes from the more than kind and nice person behind the counter for a total of a bit more than 20 bucks for two people. You get your drinks from the fountain and search for the cleanest place to go and sit down hoping that it will be good when you get it. You sit and wait, check your phone talk and watch them carry food about 3 times out to the drive through. You begin to notice the time and wonder if they are having to kill the chickens but you have not heard any tell tell noises of that. Then at about 15 minutes you are about to give up and you hear your order being called. You go up happy that you will be soon having the taste of KFC that you have grown to love over the years. You look down at one of the boxes and wonder what the orange splotch on the side is. You go up and you show this to the person behind the counter and they tell you in a matter of fact tone that it is grease. At this point you ask for the New Manager, and he seems dismissive and tell you that he will make it right. This was who has been putting the food together in back for the past bit, and you wonder if it his grease hand print on the box. You ask if you can talk to the owner, and you are told they are in Utah and that the manager is in charge. You demand a refund returning the two meals and leave. You go off and call the KFC Customer Cares and you get Paris who speaks with a foreign accent and makes you wonder if they have even had KFC Chicken before. You tell her that you when the KFC in Monticello MN and she cannot seem to find it without you knowing the zip code. You ask for her supervisor and she tell you that you cannot talk to them. You realize why the Monticello MN KFC is so bad because the people who run KFC do not seem to have any care about the customers. UPDATE!!!!!! The Owner who does not live in Utah called after sending this off to Every Officer at KFC and the local media. He tells me he is aware and working to fix the Monticello Location. We will be waiting for his call and we...
Read moreI ordered the new bbq chicken tender basket. I took a bite of the tender, which was the thinest piece of meat I’ve ever seen be turned into a tender, and it was crunchy. Not a good crunchy, but a type that was sitting out and tasted old. The sauce was more grease than it was bbq sauce, and I couldn’t believe I didn’t actually taste bbq at all. I went it my fridge to dip the chicken into some bbq sauce I had since kfc’s was so flavorless. Not only the food was terrible, but so was the service. I originally went through the drive thru to order, but I waited at the intercom for about 2 minutes when no one answered. So I drove over a bunch of garbage that was in the drive thru to go inside. I should have walked out as soon as I walked in. The place was filthy. Countertops were covered in crumbs, the floor had food all over, the soda station was grossly covered in soda spills, behind the counter was deserted. It seemed like no one was working. When someone finally came around the corner to take my order, another guy started sweeping, and what seemed to be a manger started making my food. It was so odd that that no one was back behind the counter to help make the food. There was a commercial mixer running all by itself. The best thing I seen was the buffet bar. It looked fresh, but that was it. This place should be condemned and start over. KFC is not interesting in their consumers safety or satisfaction when it comes to the...
Read moreThe doorbell went off when we walked in. There was an employee was sweeping the floor in the dining room and a group of employees were loud and laughing it up in the back. We stood there looking over the menu for over five minutes before the employee in the dining room called back to the kitchen and told them customers were waiting. Someone from the back said "will you get that for me" and another five minutes went by until she came out. No greeting and no thank you. We placed our order and sat down. The man called out our name and shouted out the order. We sat down and found out the extra cole slaw that he called out was missing. We went back to the counter and told the man we were missing the cole slaw was missing and he said "I gave it to you" and continued to argue about it. We eventually got it and it was dry and not nearly as good as usual. We usually stop through the drive through window and spend $45 to $65 when we do, but after that we won't be back. Our money is better spent elsewhere like Pizza Ranch where the food is fresh, the atmosphere is warm and the employees welcome you and are...
