Absolutely great food. I have eaten at Pho Capital twice now and enjoyed it both times. The watermelon boba smoothie is very good and a must have (extremely refreshing and tasty). Their curries are extremely good and all dishes are made with fresh ingredients. The flavors are unique and different than many vermont dining offerings. Parking is extremely limited, especially in the winter months with the snow piles, so be aware of that. There is local paid parking downtown that is only a 5-10 minute walk away. The prices are not inexpensive, but nothing is anymore with inflation. Both times when I went for lunch my wife and I ordered smoothies, one appetizer, and two entrees. With tip the bill was always less than 60 dollars, which is good considering the portion sizes and quality.
As for interior, there are half a dozen small tables available. The staff are very good about wearing their masks. I have never had an issue walking in for a seat during the lunch hour (it is usually busy for a few tables are open).
Overall, a must try if you are...
Read moreGreat food, but wouldn't describe it as "Vietnamese" despite the name. It's Asian-Fusion. A mix of Thai, Vietnamese, American-Chinese, etc. If that's your thing, it's great! You can get spring rolls, Thai curry, Pho, you name it! The bubble tea is excellent and it's a great little café.
If you're a bigger person you won't fit in here or on the chairs easily, and it will be hard to walk around. No room for a wheelchair, so it's usually occupied with able-bodied young folks. Not a problem for me, personally, but if you don't fit into that group, I'd advise going while the weather is nice so you can eat in their spacious outdoor area, where there's a ramp and you won't be cramped.
Every time I've gone it's been very good, no complaints on food or service, and I personally love the vibe.
Only complaint is that parking is very limited and often customers park like assholes because there are no painted lines, so you have 3 cars taking up the space of 6, and then there's...
Read moreFood was better than average Vietnamese (I’ve been to Vietnam). Service was terrible. The waitress doesn’t know the names for any dishes in Vietnamese OR English, she just was using numbers. I ordered the Phó. She didn’t know what it was. I said “South Vietnam beef soup” and pointed to it on the menu. She said OK, #21. I didn’t check her on the #. She brought out a wanton soup. I said, no I ordered the Phó. She said you ordered #21. I don’t know your menu numbers I said. She brought out the cook and said I didn’t want what I ordered. Rather getting in an argument, I said I will just eat this. It was decent soup, but not what I ordered. Teach your wait...
