Delish Montpeliers Sweet Shop — Local services in Montpelier

This place is WONDERFUL. The lady at the counter was so very kind and patient with my three kids (they had a tough time deciding), and the selection is nothing short of extraordinary. Salted licorice! Maple malt balls! A million kinds of truffle! Absolutely make it a point to stop in, you’ll be glad you did.

As a side note: I’ve seen a few reviews from a year ago or so for different small shops in Montpelier where people complain that the staff insisted (politely, too, it sounds like) on masks. Look, you don’t know anything about that person’s health, or the health of their loved ones and household members. For all you know that person behind the counter is going home that night to take care of a cancer patient, or is immunocompromised themselves, or has a kid who’s high-risk. We came to visit the beautiful town of Montpelier and saw this cute little store. So we have it a try. The woman behind the register was very friendly, helpful and patient. She promoted the Truffle Tuesday, meaning 20% discount on truffles. We picked 5: something with rum, cherry, raspberry, key lime, and Black Forest. They were all very DELISH!! My children went to go get some candy after school, and whoever was working told them they weren't welcome without masks. My oldest asked if they had any disposable ones, and the woman's reply was, "no you can just leave." It's not just what she said it is how she said it. Extremely rude, my kids wanted to come home and get masks but decided that they didn't want to go back because of how disrespectful the woman was to them.
