I was upset when seeing the old Del Rancho building had been bought, and turned into something else. The original building carried many sentimental value as my Grandfather had taken me there many times as a kid. We had shared many fond memories there. But I was relieved to see that it had simply been moved to a new building. I loved that you still order by phone located at your table. I had my wife do the ordering as she had never experienced it. I mean it’s just something everyone has to do at least once. It’s almost like a tradition to be the person who orders the unique Del Rancho way. As for the food, the Steak Sandwich Supreme tastes just like I remember it from growing up. My oldest son even took his first attempt at the Jr. Steak Sandwich Supreme. This was his first time, as well as my 4 year olds first time. The food was presented in a well manner. Everyone enjoyed their food, and looked forward to going back again. The staff was quick about getting our food out to us. Everyone was friendly, and made for a great experience overall. My only small issue was when it came to refills we did have to wait a while before getting them. But, I must say part of it could of been that we were seated off to the side of the dining area away from most of the other patrons. This could of been a direct result of why it took a little longer. Overall it was still a great experience, and we look forward to returning. I have hopes I may build many memories with my family just like my Grandfather, and I did many years ago. Lastly if it’s your first time going, you need to definitely try the Steak Sandwich Supreme. It’s part of the overall experience.

The food seemed a bit bland today and not as good as the last visit. The fried steak was not as flavorful or crispy. On the last visit, the gravy was served on the bottom of the fried steak which was great. This time the gravy was served on top. The gravy also did not taste right. The service was not too good today. The server did not bring the silverware so after patiently waiting, we had to ask another employee who was bussing tables. We also never received our drinks or one of the side items we ordered. When we came in, it was busy but a lot of people had left as we ate so I'm not sure why the service was so lacking. The restaurant did kindly remove the items we didn't receive on the receipt without issue when asked but we were disappointed on this visit. We are considering not returning for a while...or ever. My advice to the management is if you find a good server, pay them good to keep them there. The problem probably isn't the server but the lack of training they were provided. Original post: I was skeptical of the food and service from all bad reviews. This was my first visit to a Del Rancho. We ordered the chicken fried steak dinner plate. It was cooked to perfection. The breading was golden, crispy, and seasoned just right. It was not salty. The gravy was delicious. I understand why they place the gravy on the bottom because it keeps the steak breading from getting all soggy. It was lunch time and busy but the 2 waitresses there were attentive. Food also came out in a timely manner. I will be back when the chicken fried steak dinner craving hits.

Hi all! Reckon, this one is a nice, little, dine-in or drive-thru, Del Rancho. It still has the old fashioned call your order in phones. My husband and I opted for the salads. I got the Del Rancho fried steak salad (come on, someone has to get the original here, and he opted for the Turkey, more like a chef. The salads were overloaded with lettuce, but did have nice toppings; cherry tomatoes, grated cheese and hard boiled eggs. You'll have to ask for onions on the side and it comes with your choice of dressing, including my fave, homemade garlic! They'll serve it old fashioned style with a basket of saltiness and club crackers. Our tiny mother-in-law went and she downed her hamburger basket and fries! Yum! The pic only shows our salad leftover, to go boxes. Sorry all, we were hungry.

Visited back home and stopped at Del Rancho two days in a row. Saturday night my food my fresh, tasted great and the staff were friendly. The wait is a little long but that is expected when you want hot, fresh food. No complaints on trip #1.

While heading back to Texas we decided to stop again. We placed a call in order while driving down I-35 and SW 89th. We arrived no later than 10 mins after placing our order. Upon arrival we called the store after parking in to go curb side. The woman on the phone was friendly and explained we had "about 5 minutes left on our order". After waiting an additional 15-20* mins we were in the process of calling the store but our order was walking to our car. My mother expressed to the carhop the food was cold so the carhop took the order in to be remade. I went inside to use the restroom and as I walked back to the car "Shauna or Shana" met me along the way expressing that "the food was not cold" and "we told you 20 mins and you came in 25". She restated this 2-3 times along with other things. Regardless if she personally felt the food was not cold, if the customer felt the temperature was mild, the meal should be revised with NO unnecessary rebuttal. Especially because I believe she was a manager. Also, according to the time we placed our order and the time we called the store from the parking lot, 11 minutes passed. So we were also blamed for being late when we were on time and we waited about 15 minutes more than told upon arrival.

Very unprofessional. Food was better on Saturday but I love Del Rancho so much it still tasted great. Location is clean and staff were excellent...
