The food was Adequate. Not great, not bad.
I stopped by on Saturday Aug 29, 2020 at about 5:00 Pm.
Wow. . .First thing I notice was the parking lot was empty. Two cars in the drive-thru though. I almost went somewhere else thinking their dining room was closed. . .
Went in, was pleasantly greeted by a young lady who did not know how to ring up a mixed fried chicken dinner. Was served quickly. Given a large cup for a drink.
Next thing I notice, they have updated since I was last here, probably about 82 or so (this location) Their dining room reminds me of a junior college dining area. Sterile, dated. A few 80's newspapers hung on the wall as decor. I noticed an article in one that declared "Word processing is the new skill" Humm . . .?? 80's newspapers?
No one else was there however.
The food was. . . Adequate. The chicken was bland, as was the corn and Okra. The rolls were smaller than I remembered, and cold. No butter in sight. Of course, I was given plastic utensils with a small packet of salt and packet of pepper. A thin Napkin. . .
At least the Mountain Dew was well mixed.
I noticed after being there a few minutes that I felt like I wanted to get up and leave. Sort of like the old orange wallpaper in some places. . .
No kindly old lady came out to check on me and offer more rolls as they did in the past. The restaurant was clean however.
As I was leaving, i noticed the front which used to feature an inviting Red, green, and brown front was now battleship gray, and red. . yuk.
I guess this place is defiantly a drive-through location now. It's not the place it...
Read moreThis place is probably one of the worst fast food experiences I have ever had. Let me just start with, I understand they're short handed, and I understand not all of their food items are readily made. I wanted good, fresh fried chicken, and was told I'd have a 20 minutes wait. No problem. I had nowhere to be, and I was patient enough for fresh chicken. My 20 minute wait turned into a 45 minute wait because of no communication, my chicken went to somebody else. I didn't throw a fit, I didn't complain, but nobody did anything to acknowledge that my wait was far beyond what it should have been. It felt like most other fast food places. Minimally paid employees that don't give a ** about their jobs. That's exactly how my food tasted. My 2 sides seemed like they'd sat on a warmer for several hours and my rolls were sub-par at best. Pay your employees more? Maybe they'll be happier? Maybe they'll actually care about the quality of what they're doing? Will absolutely not return -...
Read moreWent here but the food tasted bland and very watered down. The mashed potatoes and gravy were both kinda runny and the Mac n cheese crusty some of my noodles were hard when I went to take a bite, like they'd been sitting for a while and dried out. Then what I was really excited about was the rolls because I love Grandy's rolls! Disappointment did not miss there either. I even ordered 6 extra for my sister and dad to have some, and they had the same issue of maybe setting out just too long. Not all of them but half. 3 had hard edges on one side but half way through it got softer, needless to say, I probably won't be going back. Which is a major bums because I used to love Grandy's! Another let down was the okra! Almost forgot. They used to have the best fried okra but no more. Sorry Grandy's. I wish I could say anything good but for spending over $20 on a meal, half a dozen rolls that were literally half decent and disappointing large side of okra it was a total...
