I have been a regular patron here for many years because of great service and friendly faces. The food (plus daily specials) and entertainment is great - I always have a good time here minus one detail: it gets really smoky in the bar area (where I spend most of my time) which greatly reduces my enjoyment factor. I have reduced the frequency of my visits due to the effect the smoke has had on my health. I would really love it if either they would go no-smoking or improve the ventilation system somehow.
!!UPDATE!! It is now NON-SMOKING inside!! It is so much more pleasant to be there without all the smoke!
Unfortunately, my experience with the Thursday night Singo was not good. I'm not sure if the guy running singo or the manager/owner is in control of the volume of the music but it was so loud in there, you can't hear the person talking right next to you, much less hear anyone yell "SINGO"! The guy running the singo was extremely rude. He told (yelled at) me that since I wasn't playing singo, it didn't matter if I thought the music was too loud. I can't believe anyone would allow someone that unprofessional and extremely rude to paying customers, to entertain in their establishment. Thursday night catfish platter special - 5 stars! Extremely rude singo guy and too loud...
Read more3-28-2015 I don't see myself returning to this place. Arrived just after 8pm and was hit with a $5 cover for the band. We had to pay if we were just there to eat or to drink. Was told the band would start to play between 9-930pm, we left at 10:25pm and still no band playing. Food was bland. We ordered a burger, requested no onions due to allergy, burger came with onions on it so check your order if you ordered it with special request. The chips and cheese dip was ok but nothing to be excited about. Some of the mixed drinks ordered were about the only thing that came out good although the Jack and Coke tasted like double Jack and coke. The tables are a little too close and a bit too cramped. The waitress was great. She was always coming around and checking on our table and had an awesome attitude. I wish I remembered her name but I don't. Couldn't tell you about the band we were just told they are warming up and by 10:25pm we were ready to go with still no band playing nor getting ready to. Was not able to get a refund on the $5 cover or at least have it go towards our ticket. You would think after spending $60 + the $20 for cover for a band we never saw play we would get some kind of amount taken off the ticket. ...
Read moreBased on reviews this place seems like it may be hit or miss. I went there on a Thursday night for the first time ever. They have a nice pet friendly patio, a small non-smoking area and a huge smoking area. We sat in non-smoking and the smell didn't really bother us much, but it was pretty dead. I could for sure see it being an issue if it was busy. The main bar and projector screen (where they play games) is in the smoking section though. Each booth in non-smoking has its own little TV, which is cool for watching any game that's on. Our waiter was super nice, attentive, and helpful. He answered all of our questions, gave us good recommendations, and took care of anything we needed. Think his name was Matt. Thursday night happens to be bingo/trivia/scavenger hunt night so we got in on that and it was lots of fun. Food was good (had fish and chips for like $6), drinks were strong, shots were cheap, and the music was good (lots of country).
The only downside is the gross smoking section. Would get 5 stars if they changed that. Instead of a large smoking section and small non-smoking section, it should really be switched. Why the law even still allows smoking in restaurants...
