I see this place every time I’m waiting for medical transport when going to the Cooper in the mall… and this time it was so hot and I still had to go upstairs for testing and I was famished that I stopped in. I felt a little weird being alone, and they were just opening… but once they realized I wanted to be sat they were all business. The waitress was very kind. She gave me recommendations, dealt with the fact I was just kind of grazing along the menu and not eating much of anything because I wanted to try a drink, an app, a meal and a desert and there’s no way I could have eaten all of that. So she brought me boxes, and was just generally very nice and on top of everything. I had the Orange creamsicle which was new, I had asked for a sweet and not very alcohol tasting drink, and don’t care for the flavor of peach which would have been her first recommendation and I think with just a bit more whipped cream most wouldn’t be able to tell it has any liquor. I stirred the cream in and that helped. I had the Brussels and they were very nice. I might have liked them a little more tender but it’s because I’m working with no teeth otherwise for anyone else I’m sure they’re fine. The sauce on them is nice as is the dipping sauce. The one actually on them reminds me of a vinegary thousand island.
I got the Birria tacos which she also said was new. I thought they were very nice as well. Very tender: not too spicy but flavor was there. The spicy rice was not spicy just flavored: I was cod center it was going to actually have heat and it didn’t not. I don’t like beans so she gave me a nice portion of the rice instead.
I think chocolate is an easy cop out for deserts to hide behind and I had had a lot of bold flavors for my meal so I asked for her recommendation on the brûlée cheesecake or bread pudding (I was leaning towards the pudding) and her enthusiastic bread pudding answer wasn’t wrong: it was very good.
The fact that the bill was only $55 for an alcoholic drink; and three courses was quite surprising. I was able to have a little of everything and a second meal to take home.
I can’t say I’ll always have the extra time or money; but knowing how reasonable the prices are, I don’t think it will take me as long as it did to visit the first time to visit again. I would give them a chance if you’re...
Read moreMy partner and I have gone here for many years, and in the past it’s always been a pleasant experience. We went for happy hour; ordered the boneless wings and pretzel and 2 entrees. For one all 4 dishes 2 apps and 2 entrees came out at the same time. I was annoyed, so the bus boy took the 2 entrees to the back. As we were eating our bones-less wings, there were a few pieces of Calamari. I instantly got angry called the waiter, who said he would get the manager. Manager never came out. But angry because if anyone at the establishment was allergic to shell fish, could have gotten really sick. Waiter instantly said he would make us new wings and order 2 fresh entrees, because the original 2 would not be fresh by the point the wings would come out. We waited over less than 2 minutes and the entrees came out. Impossible they made us new entrees in such little time. Bus boy said the were the original ones. The waiter noticed and told the bus boy to send it back. The fresh chicken wings never came out. I called the waiter back and i said to cancel everything, we are leaving. One waitress who wasn’t even ours, came over and made a joke that it’s like going to Burger King and getting an onion ring in my French fries. I got mad and I was like, No.. having shellfish is allot more dangerous than an onion ring in my fries. As we left the restaurant, we decided to call the manager to the front. Remember, he never came out, never apologized. He came, we told him that this was not acceptable service, in so many ways. The manager came across like he didn’t care. He even said to us, if either of us are not allergic to shellfish why should we care. I said to him that’s a horrible answer, and said it front of the customers waiting at the front. I told him that my partners mother is highly allergic to shellfish, and if we had brought her here, she could have died. Also told him that the waitress comparing the situation to Burger King was outright wrong. The manager proceeded to defend her and say she was being funny. I said to him, it’s unprofessional and if someone got sick because of the cross contamination, it wouldn’t be very funny. Still no apology from him and we left. This one experience really burned the bridges with Yard House, I’m...
Read more4 stars because the service, food and drinks were good. The only thing is it's not a place I see going to often to really. Really I was stuck on the menu which seem to take various fast food places and make the upscale version. With upscale comes price but I wasn't too taken back by it since I enjoyed my food. It's just I don't know the theme so when I looked at the menu I was a bit overwhelmed with choices of American burgers, Asian spices, Mexican go to's, southern theme dishes and seafood cuisine. Which is a lot but I'm guessing they were going with something for everyone. The descriptions were accurate but technical, maybe with pictures on the menu I could of gotten a since of what I was getting into. The drinks were the same expansive but didn't tell a story of where I was at or what experience I should have. The the service great she was new but handled herself well they had great support staff which plenty of places just cut out of their service. I had a old fashioned called Old 43 loved better than the watermelon margarita I had first. I had firecracker wings for an app they were fried hard which I always like bone in I chose and the spiciness was more mild liked described by my waitress. For an entree I had the Nashville chicken (the entree not burger) which had sweet potato pancakes sweet tangy syrup which satisfied my chicken and waffle cravings. The chicken was boneless spicy and came with a side of ranch cooked crispy which I enjoyed. Overall good just have to ask a lot of questions...
