Edit: Itās been over a month, I have left two emails to the person I was said to reach out to, as suggested in the reply below from management. No one has responded back to me. The second email was sent as a follow up one week later. Horrible. I was given food that I said I was allergic to the time I went here and was treated so poorly by the staff there. Now this. Iām changing my 2 stars to a 1. (Karen addition). I didnāt want to go there, but here we are.
Iām very disappointed in my experience at this specific location. My boyfriend and I had dinner there last night and the first thing we didnāt care for was being seated in the back room. It felt like we stepped into a completely different space apart from the ambiance of the rest of the restaurant. Then our waitress approached us and she seemed nice and knowledgeable at first. She was the older woman with white hair, I forgot her name. We explicitly stated that we both had allergies to gluten and dairy. We reminded her again and asked questions about each meal regarding the allergy info. She checked on things then came back to tell us everything was fine to eat. She drops the crab cake entree, (which by the way is such a small dish for the price) and after eating it we just double check with her again regarding the dipping sauce it came with. She comes back again and says thereās yogurt in it. Iām upset now because we were very clear on our allergies. She apologizes then goes on to make the excuse and says, ā well you didnāt have that much of it.ā I just look at her and say, āthatās not how an allergy works.ā If it had only been a little bit of gluten instead that I had consumed, my throat would have closed up.ā Dairy for both of us makes us feel congested and sick to our stomachās. My boyfriend came home and was sick the whole night because of that. She didnāt grab a manager, nor was she courteous and marked down the bill. Instead, she went behind the line up where the food runners grab the plates and seemed angry, talking to another coworker, waiving her hands around, fuming. I could see her through the glass wall doing all of this as we sat along the wall behind the entrance to the back room. Then she comes back with a fake smile asking us if we wanted desert. We obviously declined and asked to pay. We paid the bill and still tipped her 20% because we had her time. However, someone needs to have a discussion with her. We go to restaurants like Harvest because of our allergies and we pay good money for good food and good service, and honestly we experienced non of that. I donāt know if we will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday was my 1st visit since the COVID-19 pandemic. My lunchtime dining experience was excellent. Since this was Restaurant Week for our area, they an additional 3-course meal special with plenty of choices for each course. I had their Plant-Based Chili (I paid an up-charge for a bowl, rather than a cup), Braised Short Ribs, and Caramel Apple Cobbler for dessert. The beef ribs were nice & tender, the roasted Brussels sprouts and squash was perfect and fell apart in my mouth. The garlic mashed potatoes were also very good (I personally wish there was more garlic, but Iām sure thereās appreciate the smaller amount). The dessert was a good way to end an excellent meal. They keep their desserts 300 calories or below. The calorie count on the ribs entree was only 621 and the bowl of soup was 212 (106 for a standard cup). Their COVID prep was also very good, with table occupation spaced out, hand sanitizing station at the door, and mask requirement. I will certainly be back again.
One additional COVID-19 related note. This is one of the few quality restaurants that keeps the level of music low enough so that you donāt need to scream to be heard. This helps lower the risk due to amount and distance aerosols spread from your mouth. I really love the service and quality of food here. Please stop in and enjoy.
Update March 2021 * You have to try the best hummus dish on the planet. Order the Organic Hummus appetizer - Moroccan-spiced carrot, crispy chickpeas, golden raisins, carrot top oil, served with naan wedges, cucumber & carrot slices. What a fantastic way to start a meal!
Update July 2021 * I finally tried the Harvest Veggie Burger and Iām pleased to say that this is the best tasting and unique veggie burger I have ever had. Unlike other burgers, it does not incorporate any fillers. You do have to watch out and make sure you donāt squeeze too hard because the burger will fall apart. It is topped with avocado and a jicama slaw and served on a potato flour bun. There is a little spicy kick in the burger, but certainty not objectionable. Combine this with a small starter salad and a side of un-fried steak fries and you will definitely have a healthy meal that will leave you feeling pleasantly full. Of course, you can swap the house-made veggie burger for an Impossible Burger, but I would not recommend that - it contains too much saturated fat and is not worth the additional $3. Trust me, you will love Harvestās own...
We have gone here several times. The food is alway delicious and flavorful. We even do take out and each thing is packaged individually and well as to preserve the integrity. We just recently went for Easter dinner. We had a party of 7 so I made a reservation. It was not crowded when we arrived so we probably didn't need the reservation. This visit and our previous visits we have always been sat immediately. Although we do avoid going on the weekends, all restaurants are insanely busy on the weekend, and that is why and when we do take out. All 7 of us enjoyed our food immensely. Even my nephew who is a very picky eater really liked the pizza. I get the chicken club sandwich and it is always very good. I don't always like the aoli spread so I either get it on the side, which is great if I am not sure if I like it since it changes with each season, also great for left over so the flatbread doesn't get soggy, or I omit it all together and the sandwich is still dilicious! My whole family loves the Mac and cheese. We get it every time we go. The side is big enough for me and my husband to share with our entree. This last time we went they had a vegetable soup which was out of this world. I only got a cup cause I never tried it before. I would definitely get it again. The only thing was, I was shocked when I saw a cup of soup was $6. I would expect a bowl to cost that but not a cup. The good thing was that is was extremely good. I am willing to pay a price if something is good. The service has always been a good experience. When we went on Easter our waiter was very attentive, very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us all around great service. I wish I could remember his name to give him the credit here online. He even gave us separate checks since it was 2 different families and we didn't even ask for it to be separate till the very end after we had eaten. He had a very organized system where he numbers the customers when he put in the order so when we asked if he could give us separate checks he was able to do it with great ease, all we had to do was tell him who was with each family. I have dined at Harvest Seasons Grill in Moorestown for a friend get together, our wedding Anniversary, casual family meals and now Easter and every time it has been a wonderful experience. I would and do highly recommend others...
