LongHorn Steakhouse — Restaurant in Morehead City

Unfortunately, they were out of filet of any size and 8 oz sirloin steaks. So we ordered a ribeye and a porterhouse cooked medium with 2 soups, a salad, a sweet potato, and a fully loaded baked potato. The problems were as follows: 1 soup was barely warm at best, both steaks were overcooked, we got a baked potato instead of a sweet potato, and the sweet potato that was finally cooked was hard and actually held onto the fork. We were told that the sweet potatoes had been coming out like that by the manager. Now, mind you, we spoke to the manager earlier before ordering because after waiting 30 minutes to sit down, we were told they were out of those steaks when we went to order. The server we had was never promt about our drinks. I had to request that the manager have him bring me a refill, and then we had to ask another waiter to get him to bring refills again. He didn't even check with us about our food until I waved him over to explain all the wrongs that had first happened. The second time the steaks came out they were undercooked, but we took them because we were very hungry and it had already been almost 2 hours. The only 2 good things that happened were that they gave us a free dessert and took off $15 from...

We check in, our table is ready and we are seated, and our waiter Scott comes to the table and ask what we would like to drink. My wife replies, water with lemon, please. Scott says “you know we have a bar right?” My wife says yes, and laughs and says she would just like a water. Scott says “c’mon! You have to have a drink!”. My wife then tells him that she doesn’t drink. Scott says “ Are you kidding me?” Then looks at me and says exactly this “You don’t need this type of negativity in your life! Here, let me give you my sisters number since she doesn’t want to drink and have fun with you” while laughing. My wife and I were in complete shock. I said “no I’m good, she wants a water with lemon and I will have the same, we both do not drink.” He said okay, and went to get our drinks. We felt so disrespected about our decision to not drink. It’s part of our personal beliefs and the religion we choose to practice. Not to mention, the disrespectful comment about my wife, and Scott making the comment about negativity and giving me his sisters number. My wife and I decided to walk out and choose a different restaurant after this terrible,...

Five stars? From me? You don't know how rare that is, especially for a chain. I used to do "as it happens" reviews, was a secret shopper, and I will not be kind unless it's warranted. Well, this is one of those times. Enough about me .... To start with, I can't believe my lunch was in front of me so quickly. Granted, it's now 3 pm - post lunch rush. The steak was perfect. I didn't have to send it back 2-3 times until it was correct. Next time, and there WILL be a next time, I will get the 3 oz lunch steak because, once you add the buttery delicious mashed potatoes, these Scrumptious! Brussels sprouts, and this warm, crunchy and soft bread - well, it takes a bigger man..... or... a man. And I got the prettiest, nicest, best waitress I think I've ever had. Chynna's timing was perfect, appearing at just the right intervals. And she did NOT come up to talk to me every time I put a bite in my mouth. When we did get into a conversation, she didn't tell me her life story, but was at the table juuuust long enough to be pleasant and polite. But she was so nice, I ended up gabbing away at her at the end of my visit!!! Five stars EARNED!!! Good...
