Another live review… Since Mezcalito is now off the list, (see yesterday’s review) I have to find a new fav mex. On walking in, another customer came in behind me. Host: Dos? Me: No, uno. To this, he kept repeating ‘uno’ with a smile every time he passed and when he brought the salsa and chips. Very funny man… colorful decor and music is just loud enough to be heard. Watching other staff and my waitress, they are all very friendly. Great atmosphere! The ACP only has cheese and meat over rice. I had to add mushrooms, onions, and poblano. Guess what? They don’t carry poblano. (!?) Ordered a California steak burrito. I’ve never had it before, so it will be new for me. Tell you in a minute how that turns out. Large burrito, but it was hard to get a bite without pulling off a whole slice of beef. I asked for no pico de gallo. BIG mistake! Without it, it’s just a warm meat sandwich with no oomph. I asked for some to taste on the half I was going to take to my husband. I say was…. I ended up eating the whole thing. A rarity. I had to order another to take to him. Alejandro, the owner, sat down to see how I liked it. He had to stop mid-sentence to greet a returning customer as I’ve seen him do multiple times. It’s a family restaurant that makes you feel like family. We’ll come back together and try it again. (I’m sure Norm will order the...
Read moreI really don’t like leaving reviews but this place was strange. I appreciate that the staff was friendly but when my fiancé asked for flour tortillas the guy sorta argued that corn was better 🫠 then there was like conflicting music playing because there was normal music on the radio and then like Spanish EDM and the waiter was acting like he was at a rave the whole time. The food was ok. Just okay. I’m wondering if they have something against seasoning and salt? Also I’ve never been served carne asada with grilled onions. It was weird. The meat was actually cooked really well but I just felt like it didn’t really have any flavor. My son’s burger bun was stale , the fries were yuck. And the patty was tiny. My fiancés food was okay but he had the same issues as me where it just seemed OKAY. No salt. It was a strange experience. I really hope someone makes this place better. Also just a tip, I feel the lighting could be a bit more soft and pleasant instead of super bright. It’s just...
Read moreMy first time visiting here and unfortunately my last…Birria Taco beef was a little tough to chew, lacked flavor, and barely had any cheese. Our waiter didn’t introduce himself and hardly waited on us. We had to ask for drink refills, ask for silverware & napkins even though he passed our table several times. Not to mention we were there for a while before we got the chance to order. All in all, the worst part of my experience was when the waiter gave back $10 worth of change in 1s and stood at a neighboring table watching my acquaintance count her change; i guess in hopes that she’d leave it. It was very disappointing and made her extremely uncomfortable. The best thing I had was the drinks…even though they only had little options...
