My poor waitress...olive garden is something I really enjoy..mainly because of the big salad...but I like the enviroment and it's a family place and has somehow a touch of class...the food isn't all that..microwaved fried chicken cutlet over my pasta isn't my idea of ideal Italian American cuisine...but I do like some of the pasta dishes and I'm a big salad fan so I still support a restaurant for having a good Salad and though I am big into dark leafy greens and rich ripe olives and oils and herbs and cheeses...I still enjoy the olive garden big green salad and bread sticks...cheap generic and served way too hot to be eaten by non-robots...olive garden remains to fall in my ratings and rank...my poor waitress took it personally that I gave it a low rating...she said that it would go to her boss and look like she had performed poorly..she didnt..she was fine...but I really didn't like the ordering process or options...the food I ordered cost me about 20 dollars that night and they had the same exact dish to go for 5.99...why am I paying 20 dollars to eat a 6 dollar microwaved dish? If the girl needs 5 or ten dollars I'd be happier to take her out on a date than to have to waste my money on olive gardens food..it made me feel a little ill too...so..next time..I'll just pop in and have the big salad and bread and maybe take one of the girls out to get a proper meal too. She was cute and the fried chicken...
Read moreWe stopped in at this Olive Garden upon our arrival at Atlantic Beach. 1st off the restaurant smelt of a truck stop restroom when we were seated at our table (several restaurants were understaffed during our time at Atlantic Beach so dining options were extremely limited). We tried to stomach the odor, and continued to order a meal! The server did not write anything down which is a very bad indicator to me when eating in a chain type restaurant that employees are not trained in an articulated environment. So of course, the meal was not correct for which we told the server and she tried to correct it as best she could, but we just accepted what we were served as we had been on the road all evening and just wanted anything resembling an edible substance. My son ate pasta that had dried out under a heat lamp seemingly from several hours earlier, I had what appeared to be a lasagna dish but unrecognizable, my wife whom doesn't complain just kept eating as much salad and a bread stick as she could hold and we pretty much left 3/4 of our meals untouched and departed. I can't say this is how this establishment is typically operated but I know short staffing contributes to these type situations. Hard times and difficult situations right now in this area. Not a vacation stop for us in the...
Read moreI want to start by saying I have never liked olive garden and I still don't. Olive garden to Italian is like taco bell to Mexican.
That being said my experience at this olive garden was 5 stars for olive garden. We were seated promptly; our server Brittany was great! She was alert, attentive, and a great up seller. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and always made she we were having the greatest experience possible. I had the lasagne lunch special and I made it a trio. I was disappointed with the gnocchi and chicken soup. It was delicious but I only had 1 gnocchi in my bowl and I love gnocchi. The salad was decent. I loved the peppers. We got marinara sauce with the bread sticks and I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked the sauce. The lasagna was pretty good. I would order it again if I ever go back. All in all I had a great experience.
Edit 6/12/19
I ordered the duo lunch lasagna for take out. I called ahead and my food was ready when I got there. The hostess bagged my food In front of me so I could see that my order was correct. I was given breadsticks, soup, lasagna, cheese packets, silverware, and a mint. I loved how the process was and the hostess was very friendly. Great service. Keep up...
