Morehead Burger Company was presented to me as the go to spot in the area for a MUST HAVE burger experience. Giving It a go it quickly becomes apparent that it barely rises above the standards of fast food. The experience is marred by several factors that detract from what could be a pleasant meal out.
One of the first things that strikes you upon entering is the environment. Unfortunately, it leaves much to be desired. The cleanliness of the establishment is questionable; tables and chairs were sticky / uncleaned, and the floors appear to have not been swept in quite some time at the time I went.
Adding to the less-than-ideal experience is the staffâs attitude towards customers. During my visit, I found them to be unhelpful & somewhat indifferent; hell, the cashier was on her phone having a discussion with what appeared to be her partner. Even after I told her this was my first time being here, her response was a simply âokâ & went back to her phone call. When I had questions about menu items or needed assistance with my order, responses were short, unwelcoming & lacking in enthusiasm.
While it does have a good variety of burger options, the quality does not match up with expectations or the 4.7 rating that is reflected on google. The burgers themselves are average at bestâcooked inconsistently and lacking flavor depth that would elevate them beyond typical fast-food. This burger pictured was the sweet baby burger with a side of onion rings which are one of the worst in the local area. I order for two other people as well â Classic burger and they had similar sentiments and stated their fries were similarly uninspired; they were soggy rather than crispy, further contributing to an overall disappointing meal.
In summary, Morehead Burger Company struggles to provide the go to spot that was presented to me due to its dirty environment, overcrowded conditions, unhelpful staff, and mediocre food quality. While it may serve as a quick stop for those in need of a fast meal on-the-go, it fails to deliver on the must have experience and the rating thatâs reflected that define a good burger joint.

Read moreGiving 5 stars because the food was indeed superb. My wife thought the firehouse burger was possibly the best burger she has ever had. She was a little skeptical of the idea of sugared sweet potato fries served with a marshmallow cream, but we were all won over after trying them. Onion rings and fries were also crispy and very good. Although Iâm giving the place five stars due to the delicious food, I will say the level of management could use some improvement. As others have mentioned, the general vibe seems to be that they donât have any issue regularly running out of menu items. I guess that speaks to the freshness of the ingredients, but donât be surprised if a menu item you hoped to get may not be available, or that the store closes earlier than advertised. We ordered a few tacos, only to be informed after paying and waiting that they had run out of tortillas. To their credit, they did their best to make it right, but the result was honesty still not nearly as good as what we hoped when reading the reviews. So yeah, delicious food, but could do with more organization and a more consistent...

There's no music blasting to inhibit conversation. Reduced my number of stars. There are other burger places closer to where I live.
Original Review: Overall, like this little place. Close to home and store has plenty of natural light. The burger beef is good; does not have an institutional flavor at all. First time I had the burger the taste of the beef was noticeably different, in a good way. Have no idea why: less fat? Grass fed? Dunno. Its not seasoning, its the meat. Good beef.
What I don't like is that they don't serve coffee, the bun is not up to the same standards of the beef and in my experience, the counter staff is not on the friendly, welcoming side. Public facing, hospitality jobs are tough, and often thankless; I never did, could, or would work in a restaurant. Hat's off to...
