My experience was horrible!I went in to buy a gift card for someone during my lunch break. After I looked at the selection of gas cards available (only one) not a station in morehead city, I decided on an Uber gift card instead. As it was being rung up I was informed that it would not be available for use for at least 24 hours. I said can you cancel it? She needs this today to get to work. Finding out that was not possible she said I can give you a refund. Then the manager got involved and went back to her office for at least 10 minutes. She said not only could she not refund my purchase but the gift card was not useable for at least 24 hours. Her only solution was for me to call an 800 number and complain to them.i explained I didn’t know about any hold on any gift card and she said you should’ve read the fine print on the back before you bought it. I asked why nobody told me before my purchase of this and they both said it’s a new situation to them. I said so you took my money I have nothing for it and I’m not giving it as a gift with issues of when it could be used. I asked a second time for a cash refund and was told no. I said you have the gift card, I’m out $20. You you basically stole my money and refuse to make good on it. I left without the gift card, frustrated and furious from the rudeness of the manager telling me “nobody forced you to buy it, you swiped your card not us” At that point, I thought keep my $20, That just cost you a Staples customer. I will never step foot in there again and I’m done doing business with Staples. I left, went to Best Buy and bought a gas card for my friend. No issues- in and out...
Read moreThe customer service at the printing/photo counter this morning was unacceptable. A young woman came in to have something printed in memory of her mother, who recently passed away, for her upcoming celebration of life. Instead of kindness or understanding, she was met with rudeness and complete indifference. The associate was dismissive, unhelpful, and showed zero empathy — an appalling response under such circumstances.
When she returned later to pick up the order and shared what had happened, another associate brushed it off as if it didn’t matter. That level of disregard speaks volumes about the store’s training and culture.
No one grieving a loved one should be treated this way. Compassion and basic decency cost nothing. I won’t be returning, but I hope management takes this as a serious wake-up call to address how their staff treats customers — especially those going through...
Read moreThe store seems well stocked but I wouldn’t recommend going to the print service center there. The lady working there was not capable of working the counter or serving customers. She would leave in the middle of serving a customer to answer the phone and print their order even though they were not at the store. Very scatter brained, unable to focus or finish a task or serve customers. After being there 45 min we left and there was only the one person in front of us when we got there. The person in front of us left as well because the lady was unable to help her either. You could never get to talk to her. Went to the UPS store instead. Apparently there are so many people who complain about her everyone knew who we were talking about. I feel sorry for the guy who was working with her. I’m not sure I could’ve managed even a couple of hours with her. That certainly is not the right...
