Betto's Bistro — Restaurant in Morgan Hill

I would change my rating to ONE STAR If I could.

Decided to give Betto's another chance for breakfast.

I wish I hadn't.

I chose the Cobb omelette, chicken breast, swiss cheese, bacon, tomatoes, onions and avocado. I asked for spinach instead of avocado and bell peppers added. I got the omelette and after eating a few bites I realized that there were no bell peppers. Then my wife noticed that the peppers were on her breakfast instead.

I let the waitress know and she apologized. The flavor of the omelette was decent. Not horrible but not very good either.

We got the bill and the waitress had charged me $1 each for the spinach and bell peppers. Now spinach is obviously less expensive than avocado. Why couldn't she have just switched one for the other? Not to mention I didn't even get the peppers she charged me for. I brought the error to her attention and she agreed to fix the bill. The bill comes back but only the peppers had been removed.

I'm done with Betto's. The food isnt that great and the service is bad. Not to mention I've had daihrrea all day since eating there so I'm pretty sure something might have been spoiled.

Came in today for brunch. They have a lot of good sounding items to choose from all priced at $13.99

I decided on the filet mignon hash with spinach, onions, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. There was only one server and the restaurant was pretty full so she seemed to be pretty in the weeds. Service was very slow.

As I said the food choices sounded good, unfortunately that is where things ended. The so called Filet I was served was extremely tough. I don't even know if it was actually Filet. It was tough and overcooked and barely edible. If it was even Filet it was probably some scraps left over from the previous night's dinner service.

Also the server never checked on us. I hate that. So it seems that Betto's is good for lunch or dinner but NOT for brunch.

I would give this visit 2 stars.

The wife and I had been wanting to try this place for a while but every time we stopped by on a Saturday night the place always looked packed. So we decided to try it for lunch instead. Last Saturday it was much less crowded. In fact the only other people there were a couple of people sitting at the bar.

The server was friendly and the food arrived quickly. I ordered the Chianti Chicken. Normally it comes with garlic mashed potatoes but I substituted risotto because I prefer plain mashed potatoes. The chicken was very tasty but just a tad salty. The sauce, bacon and onions worked well in the dish.

This is unfortunately a very poorly run restaurant. We are a family from out of state, who were traveling through Morgan Hill, and decided to eat at Betto's for Italian food.

While the staff seemed attentive, welcoming, helpful, and cordial while eating dinner there, we had an unfortunate incident with them, following our dinner, that was less than pleasant.

We somehow left our credit card there, and went back the next morning to pick up the card. They verified with us that they did have it, but that they couldn't give our card back to us because the manager was the only one with the key to the till. (Managers don't trust the employee's, perhaps?!)

They told us that the manager was NOT going to be coming in, and when we asked if we could get the phone number(s) of the managers and the owners, so we could find out how to get our card, they weren't willing, in the least, to give us their phone numbers.

Left with no alternatives, we called the local authorities to ask if they could help, or what could be done. In talking with them, we found out that they called up the restaurant, and the staff at the restaurant told them that the manager WOULD be in later that same day. So, we deduced that the staff at the restaurant LIED to either us, or the Police Department.

We were NEVER able to get our card back from them, and have since cancelled that card.

It was completely frustrating and stressful that we could not get back something that belonged to us, from this establishment.

So, moral of the story - if you are going to eat there, DON'T forget your credit card, or any other valuable item there, because you will likely get the run-around, and you just may never get it returned back.

We suggest that people just not even go there in the first place. Maybe they need to produce a better organized and efficiently run business. 💁
