Ordered the monte Cristo sandwich that is supposed to be on egg battered toast. It was on regular bread, toasted, with a slight yellow tint to it. When I told the waitress, she brushed it off like it’s the chef’s preference to not soak the bread properly in the egg-batter bread before making the sandwich. So it was basically a club on toasted white bread. We ordered two of them and it was the same for both. Then, Husband got half way thru his ice tea to find globs of caked on food on the inside of the cup. Daughter got a steak salad- most of the salad was brown and red on the edges. Tasted days old and was wilted. Son got the meatballs marinara off the kids menu-literally 1 meatball came with it. The sauce tasted sour. Also, after I asked the waitress about the monte cristos not being on the proper egg battered bread, she checked in on us twice after that and even though she noticed we weren’t eating our sandwiches, she made no reference to the meals; didn’t offer a solution or ask us if she could bring us something else. My husband and I are WVU alumni class of 2012 and back in town visiting family. Boston Beanery used to be one of our favorite restaurants but this one was terrible. Idk if everyone was just hungover or they just hate their job. This will be the last time we will visit Boston Beanery,...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with my dinner. Their other locations have all closed and now I can see why. We haven't eaten at a Boston Beanery since they closed the one in Uniontown, PA . We were at Ruby Memorial and decided to give their last location a try. I ordered the Boston Whaler. Thinking I was going to get a large fish sandwich. Boy was I wrong. Each piece of fish was about the size of two fish sticks. (Basically looked like it was bought at a grocery store). Then on top of that is was way over cooked. Dark brown and filled with grease. My onion rings were fried way too long as well. So I sent it all back. The second round wasn't much better, but by this time I was starving and the rest of my family had either finished or where about to finish their meals. I choked half of it down and it tasted like old grease. Absolutely terrible. I informed the waitress that it was awful thinking she would at least knock a few bucks off the meal or inform the manager of the situation or something... Nope! If this is what this place has come to, then I seriously doubt this last location will last much longer. Even if it does, we...
Read moreWe stopped here for lunch before moving my son into his dorm. We waited for around 40mins for some potato skins, a crab cake sandwich, and two club sandwiches. (They didn't even look that busy.) After those 40mins, everything but the club sandwiches arrived at which point I had to tell the waitress that everything else would have to be packed up to go and we'd need our bill. She knew that it was taking too long and had already taken 50% off for us. When I finally did get to eat the food later that day, the curly fries tasted like they came from a freezer bag and the sandwich wasn't anything wonderful. Our waitress was fine, she felt very bad about the wait and kept coming over to apologize. Oh, and we got a show while waiting. Another waitress standing off to the corner, where personal items were spread out, decided she needed deodorant, so she was pulling down the collar of her shirt and putting it on in front of everyone. Not major, but it's not really something I feel I shouldn't be watching while...
