Noel and I went to another Vietnamese restaurant but it was closed so I was able to locate this restaurant via Yelp App.
It was only about 5 miles from where we were but unfortunately back to near where we started. Located near the hospital complex. The parking lot was empty so we thought this one was closed too...but thank goodness they were open.
We went inside where they had examples of the bowl sizes on display along with menus. The instructions said to find a table that was available and turn our display to show taken. To figure out what we wanted, then go to kiosk place order and pay. They will bring our food out. Everything was pretty self explanatory. Is this the way it's done overseas?
Noel and I both chose Beef Pho, shared some spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce and I got a unsweetened bottled tea and Noel went with a Strawberry Bubble Tea with a milk based flavoring. It was a jelly textured bubble in her drink, too sweet for me.
We went to salad bar and got our Cilantro, Thai basil, spices, bean sprouts and jalapenos. This was to put in our medium bowls of Pho. The food was very good. I'm still trying to learn how to use chopsticks. The fried garlic spice was good. The Pho was amazing and we had plenty to take home as leftovers but the spring rolls were horrible. The wrappers were like a rubbery covering, very thick and rubbery. I couldn't handle the texture of it. So, I broke it open and put into my Pho bowl.
The food was good enough to go back again. I definitely want to try the Banh Mi sandwich, especially the grilled on!!! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for some great Pho. Prices were sort of high but I don't get this very often , so very worth it. Just not crazy about those...
Read moreFOOD POISONING Ordered a few things off the menu. Not sure what did it but i was in excruciating pain, sweating/fever and in and out of the bathroom for two days straight. I was also hoping for somewhat fresh Vietnamese food. The chicken was precooked bulk frozen, wouldve been happier with chic fil a. Waste of money and quite dangerous experience
Response: I find it hard to believe that this business takes food safety seriously. As an update 1 year later I have been diagnosed with severe IBS with SIBO caused by food poisoning from this restaraunt. It was the worst experience i have ever had and would hope no one takes the risk with their own bodies in the way i did with mine. I ordered a banmih chicken sandwich with pickled something on it. Well i shouldve stopped eating it once i bit into the rubber-like chicken having the feeling like it was spoiled, then cooked... I would not say this is taking food safety seriously. When raw chicken rises above 45 degrees in temp, bacteria grows. How long did the chicken I ate stay off temperature? And how often do you refresh the nasty fermented radish or cabbage your slapped on top? Because that tasted like battery acid and smelt like garbage. So please do not tell me you will make it right, the damage unfortunately is already done and to my body. All I can do is warn anyone who doesnt have an iron stomach to AVOID AT ALL COST!! There are so many better, safer restaraunts within 1 mile...
Read moreI visited this place for the first time since moving to WV from Texas back in 2020. I will say this. Right off the bat, walking into this place is just plain awkward. Unless you're looking for all of the mutlple signs telling you how and where to order, it's a bit confusing. The guy behind the counter couldn't understand me when I was asking where to order or just be seated. And he didn't speak but 2 words of English to me. Which would be fine if I'd known what I was walking into. He pointed towards what I thought was the table, which after sitting there awkwardly for 5 minutes and finally seeing the self serve signs that he was pointing at the kiosk for me to place my own order. Once you read the signs, it makes sense but even when I was through eating I was left questioning if I had to put my own dishes away too? It would be super helpful for newer guests to have someone that could at least help direct their guests on where and how to order rather than just being greeted with a hello and a bunch of pointing. In total, I spent at least 7-10 minutes in this place not understanding what to do, if I was going to be seated by someone, if someone was going to come take my order. The rules and guides are just... All over the place. Not the best pho I've had but it's the only place I've found locally. Now that I know how to navigate, I'll be back. Oh and their spicy crunchy garlic...
