We went here after my nephew's graduation ceremony at Red Rocks. They could not have been more accommodating and pleasant. This is just a great place. We had a party of eight that they seated outside, by request. It was a beautiful nice day, and the fountain outside just added to the pleasantry of the whole outdoor experience, they also had their garage door things open so the restaurant just flowed in and out, felt very European. Everyone from The hostess, to the waitresses, to the entire staff were just incredibly professional and nice. They went above and beyond to make my nephews graduation special. My parents and I got there a little before the rest of the party did, and we had a charcuterie board that was amazing. When the rest of the party arrived my brother-in-law ordered some truffle fries for the table as well which were delicious. Before I continue with the rest of the food I'm going to start with the one that unfortunately was the one and only disappointment. My mother ordered the arugula and beet salad. It was 95% arugula, she had to dig to find the beets and the grapefruits that were described on the menu, and it was very salty. That said, we expressed this concern to our waitress and she removed the salad from our bill, just another demonstration of their professionalism and desire to keep the customers happy, it was very much appreciated. Okay! On to the good stuff! I had the Verlasso Salmon, and if I could go back everyday and get this I would because it was so good! It was the juiciest salmon I've ever had and my father concurred, it came on a delicious rice cake with these amazing shiitake mushrooms, I can speak in detail on this because it was the plate that I ordered and I would order it again and again. My brother-in-law had the shrimp and grits, he doesn't speak much but he finished his plate and gave it a thumbs up. My sister had their Burrata flatbread, of which I took a bite, of which was also very delicious. She also had the gazpacha, which was something I wished I had ordered on such a hot day because it was amazing and refreshing. My nephew and his buddy of course had the blacksmith burgers, and while I didn't try them they were huge and looked amazing. Their plates were empty. Drink wise I started with one of their Sangrias, the red one, again something nice and refreshing on a hot day, my sister had the Aperol Spritz, and my brother-in-law had the margarita, all drinks were great. Finally, before our entire party arrived the waitress that we had and I wish I could remember her name because she was great, asked what the occasion was and we told her it was my nephew's graduation. They said they would bring out a complimentary dessert and they brought out a detailed brownie thing that was delicious and they even spelled his name and congratulations 2024 on the board they served it on, just an amazing touch and shows that they really care about the customer experience. My niece also has some banana dessert that was delicious. Listen, this is a fantastic place to go if you're in Morrison for a show, but it's honestly a fantastic place to go if you're just in the mood for a very nice experience. I highly recommend this place. Thank you to the entire staff that was working there yesterday, May 16th 2024, you were...
Read moreMy wife and friends and I had dinner Wednesday late afternoon. We seated outdoors under a canopy. As time passed a typical afternoon thunderstorm rolled in and a downpour occurred. After rearranging our seats it became evident that we were going to get drenched in the torrential downpour. We asked the server to Sean, who was wonderful, if he could get us reseated at one of the three vacant tables. Before he returned our meals were brought to the table and they started to get wet. We waited a couple of minutes and when no response for our request to move was acted upon we picked up our meals and drinks and relocated to one of the three still vacant tables. Upon doing so we were immediately confronted by a lady who I can only assume was the manager and were told we couldn't move as other customers who were dry and waiting in the lobby had to be seated. Not wishing to create a scene we went back to our table where two of the four of us could sit with only minor discomfort. A busboy attempted to help by going to another out side table in the down pour and retrieved another umbrella which in some ways helped but in others made matters worse. My wife was getting we so I went to retrieve her coat and asked the hostess if there was an umbrella available to use and was informed that there wasn't but I could buy one if I'd like. I declined the offer and ran out in the storm to get the coat to try to help keep my wife from getting any wetter. I came back in now thoroughly soaked and helped my wife get the coat on as water was running down her back. I stepped away from the table and stood in the service area while everyone finished their meals. To say that all of us were very disappointed by the lack of consideration given the situation we were in, is to say the least very poor judgment by the manager. With three open tables and the other guests waiting to be seated in the dry foyer, the manager should have moved us immediately. The manger's inaction put a damper on our dining experience. We know she couldn't do anything about the weather but she could have used much better judgement. I paid for the somewhat dampened meal which Sean did comp us our appetizers. Please train your manager and hostess to recognize as many of the other dinners that evening did, that taking care of those who are in the greatest need discomfort before trying to accommodate a new patron is a basic...
Read moreIt wasn't until I ate here that I realized how much every single other restaurant has disappointed me lately. I am at the point where nothing is good enough and I can do better at home. But HERE!?!?!? This could very well be some of the best food I've ever had. I had to stop myself from shedding tears more than once. We got a fantastic server! His name is Ben. New to the restaurant but not a chance he's new to serving. He was very attentive and helpful and had the best kind of personality and charisma one would want from a server. I could write a novel about my experience here but I'll make it as short as possible. The cocktails were absolutely incredible. Especially the campfire old fashioned. I have NEVER liked an old fashioned before and I have tried many. But my boyfriend got this and I tasted it just for fun, and then felt guilty for how many more times I just had to "try" it again. Every cocktail was worth the price, which i can't say for almost any other craft cocktail bar minus a select few. Then the food. This was like, a vacation. The culinary novelty I have absolutely been missing in my life. I cant remember the last time food made me feel so many things. We started with the gazpacho, and neither of us had ever tried gazpacho. I was feeling adventurous and I thought it was excellent. Sadly, I know that nothing is ever going to compare to this so I'll probably never want to try gazpacho again cause I'll just say it wasn't as good as what I had at the Hungry Goat. My entree was the vegan scallops. I've never had seafood so I have nothing to compare it to. But everything that was going on with this entree just fired off every single happy signal in my brain. So many components. It's absolutely clear that a ton of thought and love went into this recipe. I could dissect how I felt about each individual thing but this review is already far too long to read. At this point I'm sure only the owner is reading. And dessert, not many notes, but it was fantastic. Very innovative takes on panna cotta and creme brulee. This place is higher end and high cost but for once, the cost was completely worth it. I cannot wait to come back. You are now at least in my top 3 favorite restaurants. And in comparison to my restaurant experiences for at least the past few years, maybe number one. Thank you for one of the best culinary...
