I was really excited to try this new place after reading the reviews. Ask for a quiet area to be seated in called 2 weeks in advance with request and when I arrived we were being seated directly across from the bar, mind you it wasn't busy when we got there it was 4:30 but that's not what I would consider a quiet space, the hostess had a vacant look, didn't smile and seemed confused for lack of a better word, after back and forth about the seating, she wouldn't budge, kept saying the tables were all booked up, I think the manager, I believe was the manager stepped in and gave us a different booth. Problem solved. After that debacle we sat down to what we were hoping was going to be off the chart food based on the reviews and the menu. Limited menu, a very extravagant detailed explanation of said five or six items for entrees and appetizers. We ordered several appetizers and entrees which were a mix of salad a vegan tartar focaccia bread, and a type of shrimp cocktail that was served over some pasta that was just drenched in oil which I had to send back, and honestly it came back the same way I didn't eat it I took it home and didn't say anything. The Bison short ribs for phenomenal and tender, and the focaccia bread was very good and the herb butter. No drinks Diet Cokes, and the bill was with a 20% tip around $187. The b o o t h s are uncomfortable and cramped, there is a backroom for additional seating that's Bland and bear and sterile looking that look like occupied more families. I was really shocked that all of the couples that brought infants and small children to this place as I did not see one item on the menu that a child would be interested in. Are waitress was super nice and knowledgeable. She was definitely the highlight. I don't have a problem with entrees costing $40 to $50 if they are exceptional a memorable, they were not. A month earlier I ate at a restaurant up on accident right around the corner called The Hungry Goat Scratch kitchen and wine bar..small batch, the food was top tier and phenomenal. The desserts and food were Michelin worthy .. I still Rave about it to anybody that I meet. Unpretentious, not overcomplicated descriptions of food, high quality and beautiful presentation. It was a vibe. As much as I would like to recommend La Roca Rosa I cannot. I believe their menu needs to be overhauled and not so limited, and spend less time trying to be something that it's not. Expensive does not always translate...
Read moreA Stunning New Gem in Morrison! From the moment we walked into La Rocca Rossa, it was clear this restaurant is something special. Nestled right by the upcoming Red Hotel in Morrison, the space immediately impressed us with its sophisticated and welcoming ambiance. The interior renovations are beautifully done, creating an atmosphere that feels upscale yet comfortable.
Every part of our experience felt intentional and thoughtfully crafted, from the warm greeting at the door, to the attentive and professional waitstaff, to the stunning presentation of each dish. It’s obvious that the owners and their team have poured heart and soul into this place.
Our server, Conner, was exceptional. He was professional, personable, and made sure every detail was spot on throughout the meal. The way the staff approaches the table, the pace of the service, and the overall flow of the evening all felt polished and seamless.
The food was absolutely delicious and visually stunning. Every bite was packed with flavor and beautifully done. The drink selection was equally impressive and well curated to pair with the menu.
La Rocca Rossa is a much needed and exciting addition to the Morrison dining scene. Hats off to the Packers and their entire team for creating a dining experience that’s not only memorable, but worth coming back for...
Read moreTLDR: Was genuinely so excited for this restaurant. Morrison is a restaurant desert and looked forward to a nice restaurant, but we won’t be returning. Extremely overpriced for food that can be described as mostly edible, but nothing to recommend to a friend or reorder.
Food & Drinks: Didn’t have any food that we’d say was good. The menu was written impeccably and sounded great, but ultimately didn’t deliver. The bread course and carrots were fine. The lasagna was borderline inedible. The other pasta main was fine. Cocktails were again fine, but unremarkable. Ultimately, everyone left with the feeling it was fine, but the prices were crazy expensive. If you are going to be expensive, the food needs to be at least good.
Atmosphere: beautifully appointed
Service: Fantastic -ish; everyone was great, friendly and so awesome with the kids. Everyone was so attentive (maybe too much so). The bread is super crumbly. I would have expected a restaurant of this supposed caliber to scrap the crumbs. Dish collection was almost nonexistent; also would expect silverware swap...
