Potbelly Sandwiches is a quaint little sandwich joint with quality subs at a moderate price; if you want quality, come here!
When I first saw this place, it was in passing and I didn't stop in because it isn't in the most convenient of locations. You have an entrance only light, and an exit that forces a right turn instead of a light that lets you turn left back onto the road you came from. I decided today to come in and give Potbelly a try, and I wasn't disappointed!
Service Upon entering, I was warmly welcomed by the owner (?) of the store. When ordering, the ladies that made my sub were both knowledgeable and passionate about their jobs, something you don't always get in a retail position. I got the impression they were hand picked rather than random people applying off the streets who're just there for a paycheck; they were quality employees.
After eating, I inquired to the owner about the app and it's benefits and he was equally knowledgeable and told me everything I needed to know. My girlfriend who signed up on it said it took her roughly two minutes and that you can either use Email or Facebook to sign-in.
Quality of Food The girlfriend and I ordered the Prime Rib (670 cals) and the Italian (760 cal) and were both highly satisfied! My sub, the Italian, was six inches and had a crunchy exterior. The bread was flakey as if it was cooked on high heat for a minute or less; it was good. I entirely recommend the Potbelly Vinaigrette on the side for the Italian sub, it makes a world of difference!
Atmosphere Potbelly has a quaint, aimable old fashion feel that warms the heart (#NotPaid lol), it's overall demeanor and the way the lighting affected the interior impacted my overall experience positively! It's very scenic.
Atmosphere is also part of the experience in my humble opinion, if you enter a dump, expect the same quality in the employees, as well as the food they'll make for you. You won't get that here.
Cleanliness The seating environment was well taken care of, as seen in the pictures I took; however, one thing I'm a big stickler about is the bathrooms. I am OCD about stuff on my hands, and one thing that comes with eating a sub most of the time is messy hands. So I go into the bathroom and thoroughly scrub afterwards haha!
When I went into Potbelly's bathroom, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean it was, and the fact that the water didn't have a off-or-full-blast setting. The soap, strangely enough being in this restaurant review, also cleaned off any prior sandwich smells that linger after eating a messy sub.
Overall Experience I am by no fashion a professional restaurant reviewer, but I did feel inclined to give back to this establishment after having a good experience with an equally thought provoking review. I had an overall good experience at this establishment and would come back; however though, the location works against me when trying to return home. However though, I digress, you do get what you paid for...
Read moreGood quality ingredients, bad quality sandwiches. I'll start with ordering. My boyfriend wanted to try their new cheesesteak, and said "fightin' philly" multiple times. The girl didn't have a clue which sandwich we were talking about. She was super nice and we understood not knowing how to make something new. But when the lady in charge gets an attitude with us because she doesn't know the menu, there's a problem. She (lady in charge) asked if provolone was okay and my boyfriend politely said, "No, the whiz cheese." She didn't know what we were talking about. She asked if he wanted Italian seasoning, and then we realized she was asking about the ingredients that come on the other cheesesteak. So again, my boyfriend says the fightin' philly one. She disregarded his request and he asked what usually comes on it. She replies: "Italian seasoning." So he says okay and asks for onions and lettuce. We sat down to eat and he noticed there were green peppers on it, which he didn't request, and apparently don't normally come on it according to said lady. The bread was warm, and the meat was cold. I gave it a second star because the cookies were actually pretty good, but the service alone from the one person who should've gave the best is probably going to keep us from coming back. We felt as if it were to be a burden to ask for what we want on a sandwich we...
Read moreFirst time customer and I would not return honestly. Main factor is the staff, followed closely by cost for what I received.
1 employee honestly seemed like he was high or something, the entire interaction was very strange. The other employee who made my sandwich had the attitude that he was doing me a favor. Neither were the least bit welcoming.
Odd ordering and check out area. The toppings, etc are listed on a cabinet door behind the line. However, there is a high wall, and the employees make your sandwich back there. You cannot see any of the process or ingredients. Honestly it felt like there was something going on that they do not want you to see? No idea, just an odd layout for a sandwich shop.
Sandwich was OK, but IMO was overpriced for what I got. I ordered the largest sandwich and it was the equivalent of a Subway footlong. It also came out to over $13.
Sorry Potbelly, but I did...
