Hands down the food is delicious and affordable! This is a difficult combination to find. If you're looking for a restaurant in Moscow with good food, beer and of course gyros for the best price and quality then this is certainly the place to go. My dad and I pay roughly $15 for two meals here. The soup is delicious for the price, as is the nachos, as is most everything else. The gyro with feta cheese is a must-have. The restaurant is a little louder than most restaurants in the area. At times it will be mostly empty, however when it's full be warned it will be loud and it can make you feel uncomfortable. If you come here then you should note but you usually have to wait to use the restroom because of demand. It can be difficult to find parking so you'll likely have to walk a few blocks.
The employees are very kind, prompt, and focused. The atmosphere is not my thing but I am a very traditional person, so most people won't mind the atmosphere. They are wild and laid-back- a good combo it that makes sense. The staff let you try the beer via free sampling to ensure that you are able to get what you like. It should be noted that you will have to pay up front for your food. The staff keeps the building in the best conditions they can even though it's very old and in need of extensive repair. The staff will also answer your questions about any food or beverages they sell.
To sum this review up it's a very good restaurant regarding quality food at the best prices for Moscow...
Read moreA great eating experience! So I grew up in Moscow and this is one of the only restaurants in Moscow that is still standing since my youth. What is different between then and now is the wonderful art and decor that has been added. It always has been a very cozy, welcoming environment conducive to meeting loved ones and a laid back atmosphere, but the addition of the ping pong table and wide layout makes for no cramped feeling whatsoever.
Onto the food, and what great food it is!! So it is classic authentic Greek cuisine at its finest. While the gluten free options are limited, the staff is VERY helpful at accommodating such requests and always makes it right if something does happen as far as getting the order wrong, which doesent happen very often. I absolutely love this place, it's my favorite place to eat in Moscow. Check out the Clam Chowder on Fridays, it is the best in a 100 mile radius, maybe farther.
With more gluten free options, this place would...
Read moreUpdate: May 30 2024: What the hell happened? This was a horrible experience today. I asked about getting an Avocado Gyro, was told that they had avocado, and placed the order. What came out had a smear of cream cheese (where the previous sandwiches have had a thick layer), a small amount of lettuce (maybe a teaspoon's worth of shreds), and no Avocado to be found.
My wife got the hummus and the hummus was salty and disgusting. Guess we're taking a break for a while, while they figure things out.
Update: February 2024: apparently Mikey's recently changed ownership and has brought back a ping pong table. More beer options and now wine. Same great food and fresh made soups. The Palouse needs more places like this.
Mikey's is a Moscow landmark. The hummous is good, the pitas are served warm and are soft. The deluxe Gyros are so tasty. Best prices on beer...
