So, this is sort of a positive and negative review. A star was lost because of the manager not the employees or the food.
Today I placed a mobile order on the app. I got there and waited 15 minutes and finally went inside. While walking in I passed the manager looking extremely disheveled and in a panic. When I got inside, he passed me again even more on a panic, hastily announced that the CO2 just went out and there was a delay because the person in the drive thru was still taking orders.In fact most of the employees were in a panic and his panicked announcement only added to the rest of the employees panic and frustration except for one gentleman. I wish I could remember his name because he was calm and professional handling my situation. I told I had a mobile order and could I just have tea instead of a soda. He was polite and accommodating and hopped straight into action to take care of my order.
Although, I don’t remember his name, I remember what he looked like. He had dark hair and a swirling vine type tattoo under his left eye. Based on the actions of the Manager and this hound man’s actions I think maybe a position switch is called for. Event to just look at the manager and this you man his appearance alone showed that he was a leader. Thank you so much for your quick action and calmness in the eye of the storm. Read more508 RENFRO ST, MOUNT AIRY NC....The employee-i assume the manager, was honestly the rudest person I have ever dealt with! I placed order at the drive thru, ask the employee to verify the order, she mumbled and rattled it off so fast, I couldn't understand her, then she just handed the receipt and closed the window. At the next window, I asked the employee if a large fry was on the order, a different employee-the manager, came to the window and told me no and that I would have to drive back around through the drive thru. I said no, never-ending. I remained sitting there, waiting on the remainder of my order...she opens the window back and and said "well you're gonna be there sitting a while, what do you want"! I said, can I get the rest of my food...or just give me a refund! The male employee then said to her, she's waiting on the rest of her order. He was very pleasant...but that manager was something else and should seriously reconsider her career path! Had I not had my grand daughter with me...you would have seen me on one of those tik tok videos!! I work with people every day, in the Healthcare field and I would never treat someone like that! This is sometimes a decent mcdonalds. Most of the time staff are friendly and helpful! Expect long wait times for food in house and customers are often asked to "pull up" suggesting that the current team at this time is not currently capable of meeting demands at less than peak business hours. They often use the biscuit dough frozen in the freezers from the day before for their early morning biscuits meaning that if you go in the early hours, you will receive a thin, chewy biscuit as I have on countless occasions.The food is hot, and order accuracy is actually not bad! I have been refused service due it being close to closing by several minutes, even after waiting in line, and seeing others served before me in line. There has been a recent remodel so cleanliness should be great (for now), but was a very nasty place just prior to the remodel. This reflects on the cleanliness and hygene of those who prepare our food. I try to keep in mind that this a fast food joint and they are a very high volume store. They do very well to just barely keep afloat in peak breakfast hours. Its a true madhouse. I would rate this a 4 star McDonald's is there was more consistent food portions, fresher breakfast and less wait...
