Update: In response to the owner as to why there was a two week delay in the review. It was due to being from Michigan and traveling, and I usually wait to do reviews when I return home after trips. I was a 1.5 hour drive from this location and wasn't driving back for a $4.00 muffin replacement or my money back. Reviewers beware!! Visited on 8/31 visiting from Michigan. Ate at one of the local restaurants and went looking for a sweet treat. Found Allyson A Bake Shop. Ladies at the counter were very nice. Asked for one of the Double Lemon Muffins to go. Decided to have it that evening with coffee, and I was very disappointed. The crumble topping and the Lemon drizzle on top were very hard (they boxed it in a container for me). The muffin, unfortunately, was very dry and stale. Sad to say it went in the trash. I'm sure this must have been just a one-time thing according to the reviews. My wife and I live in Orlando, but go to Mt. Dora often on the weekends and always make a point to stop here for iced lattes and the best baked goods around. Period. Honestly, everything from the cookies to the scones to the muffins, etc. is next level!!!!! The atmosphere is great, and so is the staff. The only reason for four instead of five stars is because our most recent visit, the tried and true iced lattes with oat milk that we always order, tasted totally different. I am not sure if they are using different espresso or a different brand of oat milk or both, but please, please, please go back to what you had been using prior. I visited Allyson A Bake Shop today for the first time and ordered an orange cranberry scone, a pumpkin spice scone and an iced tea. It was tough to not order more as they have a nice selection of tasty looking baked items in their case. Both scones smelled wonderful and tasted great with the right consistency of moistness and flakiness. The iced tea is brewed and just right. The staff is friendly and helpful. While it's a small cafe, there is plenty of seating and a nice environment to sit and socialize. I love this bakery and will be back next time I'm in Mt Dora.
