I recently ordered food from Captain D’s for the first time in ten years. I decided to go with the Family Pack, which included ten pieces of Fish Fry, along with French fries and coleslaw. The total price was around $28, which I found to be quite reasonable. When I arrived at the store, it was noticeably empty. There wasn’t a single other customer inside. The employees weren’t particularly friendly or rude—they simply lacked any expression and barely spoke. The restaurant itself had an old-fashioned feel to it, but it was well-maintained and clean, which was a plus. I placed my order online through their app, which I found easy to use. Downloading the app and placing the order was a smooth process. I had only opted for pickup, but when I got to the store, I noticed a strong cigarette smell near the restroom, which was quite unpleasant. Once I got home and was ready to eat, I was shocked to find that the bottom of both food boxes had completely melted due to the heat from the fish. The plastic had created holes in the bottom, which immediately raised concerns about health risks. I couldn’t imagine feeding my children food that had been exposed to melted plastic and potential toxins. This was extremely frustrating and something I had never encountered before. I called the restaurant to report the issue and was asked to return to the store to get a replacement. This was especially inconvenient since my kids had just finished their sports practice and were starving, but I had no choice but to go back. What annoyed me further was that they insisted I bring the melted boxes back with me. Did they not believe my complaint? I complied, and when I arrived, an employee took the damaged boxes to the kitchen. Another staff member then handed me a fresh batch of food, without so much as an apology. Their expressions remained blank, and their lack of customer service was disappointing. As for the food itself, it was just average. The Fish Fry had an unusually large amount of brown seasoning powder on the batter, which made me wonder if the frying oil hadn’t been changed frequently. However, the fish itself seemed fresh and was edible. The coleslaw turned out to be the best part of the meal—it was incredibly fresh with no odd smell, and even my kids, who usually dislike vegetables, enjoyed it. The French fries were also decent—not too salty and cooked well. After this experience, I couldn’t help but wonder why the restaurant was so empty despite its convenient location near the highway and its ample parking space. It seems that other customers might have also had their reasons for staying away. I was excited to revisit this place after a decade, but unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

I haven't eaten at Captain D's in some while. I decided to stop for a late dine-in lunch. The food, very expensive. I ordered the one piece southern fish, combo and small soda. They charged for each side and soda separately. The total was 14.58. The food was under cooked and no taste, nasty. I will not be eating there again.

The shrimp skewer salad was just boiled shrimp placed on lettuce and cheese. There was no seasoning or skewers. The cheese melted to the shrimp. Plus they forgot the dressing. I also ordered the grilled fish kids meal. The fish was cold and the broccoli was freezer burned.

Worst Captain D's I've ever been to In My Life. First of all it took 10 minutes just to get somebody to wait on us and they weren't even that busy but they didn't even say I'll be right with you or anything. Then took 15 minutes to get food that wasn't right . I was missing a chicken strip. When I told SAGGIN PANTS GUY( RIDICULOUS) he went to his manager and told her.She picked the chicken strip up with her gloved hand, looked down like I was lying or something, and told me that she'll have to cook me another piece. Well about 13 minutes later my chicken strip still hadn't came up, so my fiance went and asked about it & for a box. SAGGIN PANTS employee pointed over to the side counter where all the condiments are for to go stuff. .Also we paid for 2 large drinks because they said they had sweet tea after I had already looked over and asked you have sweet tea? The guy said yes. Well they didn't have any sweet tea available they had unsweet tea, which is what I drink,. but almost all gone. No lemon out there eithe. So, since no sweet tea, my fiance had to get Pepsi which was nasty and tasted nothing but syrup he said. Other customers had been waiting for online orders. The one man was waiting 45 minutes & said he called in order in 15 minutes ahead. He was fuming mad bc of the way the SO CALLED NEW MANAGER WAS VERY RUDE N NASTY TO HIM. said you're not going to talk about my kids (employees)this way & got in his face like she was nasty to him and was just not very professional at all. The whole time while she was being nasty to the customer, MR. SAGGIN PANTS EMPLOYEE, was smiling, thought it was funny. Then two other ladies got tired of waiting for their food and they both left empty-handed.I sat & waited for a few & heard them laughing behind the counter THE SO CALLED NEW MANAGER & SAGGIN PANTS NEEDS TO BE FIRED. I will NEVER go back to that location EVER AGAIN!!! P.S. NO TP IN...

This manager needs to learn customer service skills. The name on the bldg was listed and unfortunately if I really did speak with her she needs an attitude adjustment. When someone orders a meal they expect it to be correct, however I’m intelligent enough to know that sometimes mistakes happen. That being said, when I pull up to your window and you proceed to read my order back to me only to find out nothing was correct. I then give you my order all over again. I have to ask for a drink carrier twice while I wait for you to correct my order. I then watch you review my boxes as you pack them in the bag. What a false since of comfort that was! When I arrive home nothing is correct about my order, in fact it’s just like it was when I pulled up to the window. I then place a call to you only to be told to basically get over myself, you all are busy. Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll carry my money else where. I spent 40 minutes in your line, I did not complain about my wait. I didn’t even complain when I spent another 5-10 minutes explaining to the young girl in the window what my actual order was.

Your industry is one of the most suffering threw this, as an essential worker myself I’ve tried frequenting restaurants through out the week to try help with some of the blow. After tonight, I want be back. My money will be spent somewhere else. Oh and I realize my 31.00 wasn’t much in the grand scheme of things. But I get comfort in knowing if you shouted at everyone like you did over me telling my order is wrong, you’ll take care of that all...
