Never again will I step foot in a Chili's restaurant (and especially the one in Flanders NJ)....This experience was such a nightmare, I don't know where to start. Next to another experience in a restaurant which I had years previous, where the septic tank overflowed during the meal and filled the restaurant with a cesspool like odor, I have to say, this Chili's experience ranks up there, undeniably, as one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had.
First of all, I don't complain lightly. At our table, between my sister and I, was well over 40 years experience in the restaurant business (as servers, bartenders, managers and owners). We know how though it can be at times, things go wrong, but we take our jobs seriously, we appreciate the customer, and above all, make the customer's dining experience right, no matter what unforeseen circumstances manifest. Luckily, we honed our skills in some of NYC's best restaurants.
THE MEAL The night started with big bowl of rancid, rust tasting and over-limed, guacamole that caused our mouths to pucker up and gag? When we complained, The waitress apologized and was nice enough to get us a bowl of freshly prepared guacamole (which was kinda okay), even though when our food came out, there were smaller portions of the earlier, vile tasting guacamole accompaning our entrees (you would think our waitress would report it to management instead of just continuing it to be allowed to be served and alienating other customers).
The service ... talk about head in the clouds ... our waitress was so disassociated. She's ask us how things were or if we needed anything else and then she sprinted off multiple times, not even taking the time to listen to the problems with our orders. I ordered the double order, baby backs. One rack was what I ordered, the other 1/2 rack was not what I ordered. As far as baby back ribs, it wasn't a taste sensation by any means ... it was just okay, food I'd expect to get when you're on an airline. It was an ordeal to get napkins. We'd asked, and then waited 10 minutes ... and had to grab a second waitress, while we had sauce dripping from our hands and chin .......
Watch YOUR Bill ... Okay, we placed a takeout order for a family member at home. The order never arrived, but, yep, you guessed it, the charge for the order which never arrived was on the final bill (oh yea, it evidentally was never ordered either).
So, what was GOOD about our dining experience at Chili's? ... It was leaving it ... Chili's Management and corporate should be ashamed at not checking in on this ill-runned branch as it reflects on Chili's corporate. Inexperienced and negligent servers on the floor just don't cut it. Food leaving the kitchen ill prepared OR not up to some sort of standards, should never blasphemy a customer's palate . It just doesn't...
Read moreStory time, it’s was a Tuesday (1/17/23)
Had a nice 10 hour shift and then decided to go to Chili’s with a couple of my close friends. When we arrived we were seated right away and then asked what drinks we would like, we were not asked for IDs so we thought we were fine given the fact we are all 22 23 year-olds. we then ordered appetizers and more drinks to go with it, I would say in all we were probably three drinks deep each. Also before ordering dinner we all noticed they only filled are drinks 3/4 of the way, I didn’t let it bother me.
So I then decided to order dinner and when doing so I asked for another drink and the waitress stated that the manager is cutting us off and we cannot buy any more drinks now. I was very confused considering I’m a big man, I weigh close to 260 pounds so I haven’t even felt the liquor yet.
I knew our waitress was new because she informed us so instead of dealing with her I decided to go up to the bartender to explain the situation. she understood but when the manager came up he automatically started antagonizing me that were drinking too quick. Also that we’re not ordering food which that was a false statement we ordered appetizers and I ordered a meal for myself. from my point of view this was very immature of the manager and I asked for a valid reason, his reasoning for doing this is because he said we were drinking too quick and also for are protection when we drive. Now considering the fact this guy doesn’t even know if we drove, what if we took an Uber, he had no right to do this. Also he threatened to call the cops on us, acknowledged him to call him, considering the fact that his viewpoints and his decision on us not being able to drink was very foolish and childish, he had no response and just continue to walk away.
I am very disappointed in the way I was treated at Chili’s. I love their food, I love their employees but this manager has made me less chill and more angry I’m sad to say I am no longer a supporter of chili’s and I hope they close down just like...
Read moreAfter dining at this location with my family on October 26, 2024, at approximately 8pm. I dropped my wallet at the table where we were sitting at, after leaving restaurant, in route to home, I realized I didn’t have my wallet in my pocket. We immediately contacted the store via phone call, told them I lost my wallet, with some important information in it, and to check to see if it was at the table where we were sitting at prior to leaving. We also notified them we were on our way back to the restaurant, to check the table and area we sat by. When I arrived back at restaurant with my family, I asked the front desk, to speak to manager, he went to to get manger, returned back and stated the manager was busy unable to come speak to me. Front desk stated, manager said to let us know, after we left, the table was cleaned, and swept the area, and didn’t see any black wallet. While there, my family went to the table where we were sat at, advised the new customers at the table we were just here, and would like to check the area to see if my black wallet, that is bulky like a medium sized rock was under the table or in the area. Customers were nice enough to get up and stand aside of table, and immediately saw my black wallet under the table. 1) Its a shame that the manger advised the front desk that she was not able to speak to me, after I requested to speak to her after returning to restaurant. 2) The manger lied and sent a message with front desk guy, the table was cleaned and swept, and bulky black wallet was not found. 3) I advised manager that I am a LEO and active military service member, both my ID’s were inside that wallet, and never checked for it (can’t miss a bulky black wallet). 4) If me and my family did not return to restaurant and checked the table and area where we were sitting at, my bulky black wallet would have never been found, due to lack of manger checking at the table or area for my bulky black wallet (below are 2 pictures of...
