B404 Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

I don’t know why the reviews are so critical.

For an App me and my date had Cheese Curd Squares… OH MY GOD. I get mozzarella sticks and cheese curds everywhere I go and I cannot believe how good they were. ( enough of a reason to come back just for that.)

Apart from that the Salmon was phenomenal, the glaze was AMAZING ( which had me worried initially ), and last but not least I got the Brownie Sunday as the dessert and the brownie was just melting in my mouth ( completely homemade brownie according to the server )

Which leads me to my last point, I had a server named Gabby who was super attentive and nice! Shoutout to her too.

Overall 5/5 , and the only thing I can even complain about is that it was slightly on the colder end ( I was seated under a vent ), but it wasn’t even that bad and did not ruin the experience whatsoever.

Unclear as to why this place would open with seats that are ripped up, dirty inside, dirty outside. Wife and I got the fish and chips, which were almost unedible. Fries were very greasy, coleslaw was so dry like eating raw cabbage. Waitress said fish is freshly battered and light. We specifically asked for her to ensure we got very thin batter. It came out terribly thick, wet and greasy. Worst fish ever. They never tried to cook correctly. Showed waitress how horrible it was. She apologized. Not her fault. Obviously Mgt. needs to be fired along with the cook who obviously has zero talent. We obviously won't be back. Eaten here twice and liked the food both times, but the service is concerning. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was virtually empty, yet we had to wait several minutes at the hostess stand before anyone acknowledged us even though we were in full view of the bartender. Once seated, our server was great and the food was good, albeit pretty slow for a place that was otherwise empty. At one point a couple came in and sat at the bar, but after going 5 minutes without anyone acknowledging them they shrugged and left. The upholstery on my booth seat was completely taped over, which is not a good sign for a place that has been recently remodeled/rebranded. I hope this place succeeds, but from what saw, it will...
