The restaurant and the staff were very pleasant. It has a small limited menu, which I honestly appreciate. The way they describe their food sounded like we found this hole in the wall breath of fresh air who knows what they doing. Finally some good food in Mount Pleasant! An excitement began to swell as we had a nicely crafted cocktails from the Drink Menu. Everything on the food menu seemed to have a complex concoction of ingredients that were polar opposites yet somehow worked well together. We were feeling frisky and adventurous and decided to step out of our comfort zone. My wife enjoyed the "Pork Chop" which was a hearty piece of meat grilled to perfection that's served on a bed of sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts topped with a cream sauce made of ham and bacon, I believe. It looked wonderful, smelled incredible, and was just pure delight when you ate it. Everything we were hoping to experience. I wasn't so lucky(as I went with the "Game Bolognese," which lacked any presentation, an extremely small portion, and it tasted like something your aunt ((the one that can somehow mess up Velveeta macaroni and cheese)) threw together in a few minutes by basically opening up a can of ragu. It had zero flavor (so Bland) and was meal I haven't had since I school lunch. Hamburger helper would've been better. The meat was so ground up you couldn't begin to taste it. The only highlight of my meal is after I paid, and by no means is it cheap....I got to go to Taco Bell so I could have...
Read moreFood was good and the server was very attentive, we were a larger group since it was for a graduation celebration. Table appetizers that were good: Brussels sprouts, Fish Fish dip, and chorizo queso. Husband tried the Shrimp Diablo Pasta which he thought was okay, thought it would be spicier and noodles seemed a little under done to him, he also didn't notice the price ($30), whoops... Blame it on the Hippity Hoppity drinks lol. I got the Southwest Mac n Cheese, very good. Desserts we tried the Crème Brulee, Chocolate Ganache Cake and Flan, yum! I tried the bubblegum soda and it was a fun thing to try but was disappointed with having mostly ice and no refills for the price paid, also think the bubblegum flavor could have been a bit more as it was a little weak for me. Will have to say it was cute and a nice touch to get the little clip with the wrapper comic from the bubblegum. Everyone enjoyed that at the table.
Overall a nice experience and had lots of fun with friends. Very nice atmosphere however prices are just a little high for our family to make this a regular place to attend but would come back as an...
Read moreMy fiance and I dined here for our 6 Year Anniversary. Let me just say: oh my goodness. I repeat: oh my goodness. The pasta norcina is absolutely phenomenal. My fiance had the NY strip and he said it was well-cooked but a little salty. The roasted potatoes were soft, buttery, and scrumptious. They had the absolute best cheddar potato bacon soup I've ever had as well. The environment was nice, but I would have expected a slightly more upscale vibe considering the prices. I feel like there could be more decor on some of the walls. However, the food was delicious and still served in an upscale manner. Our waitress forgot to ask the kitchen for no horseradish aoli on my fiance's potatoes and no mushrooms in my pasta. She did put in an order of new potatoes however and those came out quickly. Honestly - best potatoes I've ever had. We would definitely recommend Woodshop Social for those looking for delicious food at reasonable prices. Also: the bar is very Whiskey/Bourbon based. We did not try any new bourbons at this time, but definitely will on...
