Title: Mismanaged Mayhem: A Disastrous Dining Experience at Texas Roadhouse in Mount Pleasant, Michigan
Review: I recently visited Texas Roadhouse in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and I must say, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the initial service seemed promising, the overall experience quickly deteriorated due to an unfortunate encounter with one of the managers.
Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted and seated by a friendly hostess. Our waitress, Makayla, was pleasant and efficient in taking our orders and bringing our beverages. We appreciated her attentiveness and professionalism throughout the meal.
The food itself was delivered promptly and was hot and fresh, which was a positive aspect of our visit. However, what dampened our experience was the pricing and the response we received when questioning it. As someone who has frequented Texas Roadhouse before, I am aware that they tend to skimp on chicken in their dishes. Therefore, I requested double chicken in my grilled chicken salad, for which I was charged an additional $10.99 on top of the $13.99 salad.
When I raised the concern about the high cost of the extra chicken to our waitress, she agreed to check with the manager. Unfortunately, the manager who approached our table was a young and pompous individual who exhibited a lack of understanding and customer service skills. He informed us that the pricing for extra chicken was set by corporate and couldn't be changed. Furthermore, I clarified that if I had chosen to spend the same amount of money, I could have simply opted for two grilled chicken salads instead (taken one home). To my surprise, he responded impolitely, saying, "Well, all you would have gotten is an excess of greens...". His remark demonstrated a complete absence of logical thinking.
I found it incredibly disheartening that adding a mere extra chicken portion would cost nearly the same as the entire salad itself. To make matters worse, the manager arrogantly dismissed my concerns, stating that chicken prices had skyrocketed due to recent issues, while conveniently ignoring the fact that other proteins like salmon could be added for a fraction of the cost.
Despite expressing my disappointment and suggesting that a $5 discount could retain my patronage, the manager callously replied with a "it is what it is" attitude. Such dismissiveness and lack of concern for customer satisfaction are unacceptable. It is evident that the manager lacks proper training in handling customer complaints and demonstrating professionalism.
I feel compelled to share my experience on social media and leave reviews to ensure others are aware of the management issues at this Texas Roadhouse location. It is truly disheartening to see such a promising dining establishment tarnished by a young, pompous individual who fails to comprehend the essence of effective management.
In conclusion, I am extremely disappointed in the way this Texas Roadhouse location handles customer concerns. The lack of empathy, unwillingness to address pricing discrepancies, and the manager's dismissive attitude have left a lasting negative impression. I hope corporate takes notice and takes appropriate action to rectify these glaring issues within their staff and...
Read moreWhat a pathetic company. The management staff is awful, the bartender is awful. And they are a money grubbing pathetic excuse for a steak house. The bartender was so pushy to get add-one and upgrades , she added on mushroom and onion on my steak though she never informed me of this up charge or the fact that she added it onto my bill, scammy little snake. When I ordered my whiskey, the clueless bartender put a lime in it, nobody orders lime in their whiskey. After I let her know I hadn’t ordered the mushroom and onion upgrade, she promised to take it off my bill, guess what, she continued to charge me for it. When I ordered my whiskey, she immediately responded with, ‘you want a double?’ If I wanted a double, I would order a double. I’m not sure if I resembled an alcoholic, perhaps her stepfather, but how insulting. She served our food without silverware. The gentleman next to us at the bar had to request the salad that he ordered, after he had finished eating, because they never brought it to him. When she offered to get us bread, she posed it as an add-on so I declined because it seemed like now I would be charged for it, how confusing an annoying when I’m just trying to take a friend out to dinner. I gave this feedback to the, I’m guessing 22 year old manager the night of the terrible dining experience without concern or sincere apology. I called the next day and received the same lackluster performance from management. I asked to speak to the district manager and she was conveniently off that day, so I asked for her to call me back, she didn’t. I called again and asked for her, her name is Ariana. I explained all of this to her and she stated, just like the two managers that I spoke with, “this is how corporate wants us to do upgrades and add ons. Scamming If you’re looking to get screwed over by a desperate sh*tty company, go visit Ariana and her poorly trained staff at Texas Roadhouse Mt Pleasant, you’re bill will be twice as much as it should be and you’ll have sucker written on your forehead. They were unapologetic and and offered nothing as compensation. Thanks for nothing district...
Read moreI always feel like I want to give Texas another chance. Partly because I hear good things and it’s also the only steak house around, I believe. Most of the time the servers are friendly and always apologetic because food always takes a while to get to the table and because it’s never cooked correctly. Steaks area always raw with a gray ring around the center of the steak. I order medium rare, as most do, I would assume that’s something that would be easy to do but I’m afraid we all know what assumptions make out of everyone involved. Also all the fried food is so oily. The Texas blossom onion is sooo oily and it taste so vial. The foods taste on the other hand is always so odd. I’m not sure what it is but everything is so bland or it has a weird taste that stays lingering in the mouth. The only thing I’d come back for is the bread. The environment it’s self isn’t too bad other than the announcements. My 1 year old definitely wasn't a fan of how loud they got in front of our table because they had a couple birthdays around us last time we visited. He was very visible and it clearly upset him and the same waitress came back and didn’t seem to care enough to take a couple steps away from our table. I think I’m gonna give up on the idea of...
