Marty's Bar — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

The waitress that works in there everyday day is racist, mean and recently violated my civil rights. I am a paralegal and have a small service dog. Me and my African American boyfriend went in there last Tuesday to get lunch. She took our orders than approached us and told us we had to leave because of the dog I stated she was a service dog, she shrugged her shoulders and stated she didn’t care. My boyfriend handed her the money for our lunch and she literally through it on the foor which I have on video. I’ve reported it to the state and federal level. I came to Marty's tonight to visit my two favorite bartenders with my boyfriend and a coworker. Walked in to see the owner and another off duty employee completely drunk and harrassing their staff. I have never been so appalled. I used to love this place but I have lost all respect for Marty and his business. I will not support a business that treats their loyal and hardworking employees like garbage, while family members working behind the bar show up on drugs with no consequence. Marty's is a local institution and it is for a reason. It's a solid bar with a good atmosphere very friendly to townies and non college kids too. The location is about as good as you can hope for too. The real perk though is the food it's all more than solid and you can't find better prices anywhere in town. The steak special is well known which is understandable with the quality and price but the rest of the food is all as good and cheap. Get a lunch there and you will be very pleasantly surprised if you didn't think of it...
