The donuts ordered were disgusting and untasteful. When we picked up the order, we were concerned about the appearance, as they were smushed-looking. We blew this off as we assumed that the appearance might be because of the donuts being the vegan chocolate, one of the substitutes being the cause. Well, when at the event, we experimented and tasted them. They were salty and inedible, almost like they were missing an ingredient. Many guests tried them and also found them unappealing. When we called in our concerns, we were told the donuts were not of the best quality after 24 hours, which is not alliterated on the website like they said. We were also told that it was a "lack of communication on both sides and we are sorry for your experience." We were told this because of our event not being communicated, which was not needed, we ordered a party kit and followed the policy of ordering a few days before. We were not offered a refund for the $40 of party kit donuts that we were not able to eat. We were told in the nicest terms that it was our fault for the misconceptions of the product. If you're looking to support a small business, make sure you take time to swing by Ignite! The business owner, Casey (hope I spelled your name right) is wonderful. He is a CMU grad and started the business in college.
After seeing the Ignite Donuts Instagram page (it's very funny I'd recommend checking it out) pop up on my social media over the past week, I knew I had to stop by! The shop has a warm atmosphere, and an incredible array of donuts to pick from. He had 25 options to pick from when I walked in at 7:15am.
Casey was wonderful to speak to while he prepared my order. The sandwich was made with incredibly fresh vegetables, and the latte really hit the spot. I couldn't recommend Ignite enough. Also, not to forget, they are open until 1am! A big plus for those...
