A Terrible Dining Experience – Not Worth the Price

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant, both the food and service were far below expectations. Our group of 7 ordered around 11 different food items, and most of them were not fresh. The rice was hard and clearly not freshly made. As for the nachos, they were bland and overloaded with cheese. When we asked for guacamole, we were told they were out of avocados, yet it was still being served as a main item.

Even after we mentioned that the nachos were not good, the server rudely insisted we eat them. We only managed a few chips. The Chipotle sauce tasted terrible, it was mostly sour cream, which is very unusual, and ruined the flavor. I asked for extra sauce (just 4oz), and to my surprise, we were charged extra for that too.

Our total bill came to $308, and an additional 3.7% "Operating Fee" was added. When we requested that it be removed, we were told it couldn’t be changed and were advised to “dispute the charge with the bank”, which is unacceptable, especially since we had split payments. Expecting 7 people to file disputes separately is unreasonable and shows a complete lack of customer care.

None of us enjoyed the food. We ended up asking for 7 to-go boxes, not because we wanted to take the food home, but because we just couldn't finish it. It simply wasn’t good. We asked to speak with the manager, but they refused to come out. The staff, especially the lady helping us, was rude and dismissive.

Restaurant is very hidden, behind a sketchy motel area. We figured we give the place a shot since it had really good reviews and we didn't want to judge a book by its cover. We waited 35 min to be seated, it was packed and many people comiing in as we waited so we waited patiently with 2 crying babies becuase we figured this place must be really good to be this busy. We were seated, it took 15 min for the waitress to ask us for drinks...and abother 15 to get our drinks. 25 min to get our food, and by the time i got my second drink i ordered, i had finished my food. It looks like there were was only one waitress and one lady bussing the tables. There were two tables that sat there uncleared and uncleaned the entire time we waited to be seated. I thought they were saving the tables for a bigger group, but nope... after we got our booth, they finally cleaned the table (which sat 6) and sat 2 gentlemen that walked in after us. The hostess was very nice. Our waitress was really rude. Anytime we said thank you she did not respond, she threw out menus on the table as she was turning our backs to us (we were already ready to order as it was a 40 min wait to sit). We ordered an appetizer that never came, another waitress came over and we let her know. The rude waitress sent her back to our table with a message it was never ordered (which was not the case at all- friend ordered and waitress responded with okay and nodded her head). The original rude waitress who is about late 20’s- 30’s and a bit chunky (as per another review about her being rude) never came to check on us, never got refills, never asked about food. It’s obvious this is a pattern with her, your business should not be making excuses about her having a bad day as she must have them a lot. The chips were so stale , and cold. We ordered pork, rice, beans and plantains. The pork was horrible! So dry, tasteless, seemed to have been perhaps sitting under a heat lamp for who knows how long. Might have been days!
