This is going to be a very long review so I'll just start out by saying in a quick little sentence absolutely amazing definitely will be going back to try the other rooms but for my further review read below.
I decided to take my sister out for her birthday this year and when I found out Big Screen Escapes had a "trapped in 1988" room it was a no brainer for me which room to pick for her birthday present. To start let's just say I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE - (that's a little 80s humor for those of you reading this that wouldn't know lol). I really can't say enough good things about big screen escapes and the fun we had. I am going to give you all a rundown.
First things first booking online was easy breezy with their easy to navigate website. You are able to see the different room choices and check the availability and pick which room you are interested in doing , book the room, sign the waiver and pay from the comfort of your own home .
When we got there, there was plenty of parking right in front and we went in. Out of the 5 of us, 3 of us were escape room newbies. The gentleman that assisted us (I am really upset I do not remember his name) was amazing or rad 😉 if we are uaing 80s terminology lol. He explained how the escape rooms work, the different locks we would run into , the room we were doing and what our end goal was. He was phenomenal.
Next, when we walked into the room it was a time warp. Brought us back to 1988 and the nostalgia ran wild. I am not going to go any further than that for the room because I don't want to accidentally give anything away.
The game play itself was so much fun, the clues were amazing and also nostalgic as well BUT, you don't have to be an 80s baby or a fan of the decade to appreciate this room. Also, all the clues are right the room, as long as you are keeping your five senses locked and loaded you'll be able to get this without a problem. No need for any serious knowledge of the decade to complete this game..
We will definitely be going back to give the other rooms a go but, I was also even thinking of going with some friends to do the trapped in 1988 room again just to see them have the fun while I sit there watching quietly to see if they got it any quicker than I did. Great experience wish I could give it more...
Read moreAt this point, I’ve been to four different escape rooms. One of them I thought was like a TV show and I was going to get murdered. One was more digital and not as interesting. We did love the one we went to in Virginia and this facility is the closest one to that. My highly autistic son decided that this is something he wants to start doing. The lady that worked with us was amazing. The room was amazing. It was a challenging room, but the clues made sense and we didn’t really need help from the outside. That is something that we really look forward to when we’re looking for a new place. I purchased eight more bookings so we could continue trying all the rooms because of how much he liked it. It was a great family bonding experience and it was a way to reward my son for going to school all week. He has not been to school in about three years because of Health issues. Him making it through a week is a huge deal. This facility is motivating him to go through with what he has to do. So I will forever be grateful for it. Christine is so amazing and has been great both times we...
Read moreThis was our second and third escape rooms for our short trip to the Poconos. When we finished at the Tannersville location we immediately book another. Ally made the decision to choose this location since she would be there. When we walked in we were greeted with an friendly smile. All questions were asked and answered. My group of 4 loved the leaderboard and knew when we saw the name at the top of the room we choose that we wanted to beat it. The Solitude Room was fun, small but had a lot of different types of puzzles. The best part was the piano (no hints). We finished the room in 22 minutes and 15 second, which we found crazy. Ally worked with us and we decide to do another room. Nuclear had a 45% success rate so we went in thinking we will do our best. This room is crazy and goodluck, we finished in about over 40 minutes. Both locations were fun and easy to find. Hoping that the other room is open at Tannersville location for when we come back. We will also be back for ALLY everytime we can see her...
