I cannot say enough great things about this coffee shop—not only is their food and coffee absolutely amazing, but the kindness and generosity of the owners left me speechless. I accidentally left my bag at their shop, and it contained all my important belongings, including my wallet and ID. When I realized it, I was already back in New York and couldn’t return to Pennsylvania anytime soon. The owners were incredibly accommodating when I called, and I even scheduled a UPS pickup for the bag. However, what happened next went above and beyond any expectation. The owner personally delivered my bag to me in New York maybe during a family trip they had planned, ensuring it arrived safely to my hands. This kind of care and effort shows just how wonderful these people are—not just as business owners but as genuinely thoughtful and kind-hearted individuals. The lattes are smooth and perfectly crafted, with the kind of flavor that warms your heart. If you’re ever in Mt Poconos, this is the spot to visit. Thank you again to the owners for your incredible kindness—you have a loyal customer for life!

This place is nice for coffee and a quick snack. Ambiance is ok to sit and do some computer work but if you want to read a book bring your own light. We had trouble reading their paper menu because the light was so low. Their coffee prices are on the higher side as they are all espresso based, think French bistro style. Their menu items seem nice in their descriptions, and based on their prices you'd expect a decent meal. Take the "lox sandwich" as an example (photo attached), it is not a sandwich, it is a canape. It is a slice of toast, with a light smear of cream cheese, ok amount of good salmon, some pickled onion, a few capers and cucumber (our cucumber was missing for some reason), placed on top of some arugula leaves. A sandwich consists of two pieces of bread with stuff in between (think sandwiched). We paid $16 for the food, it wasn't enough to fill one person for more than an hour. Both the food and drink were tasty, but definitely did not justify their prices, none of it was even organic. My recommendation: if you're coming here just stick with their drinks, skip the food.

If the amount of time we spent here is any indication... we loved it! We spent 2 hours exploring the menu and enjoying our couples' time together. The place is very cozy and intimate. They have a retro, warm, inviting decor with a notable single tapered candle surrounded by a glass chimney on the counter. The kitchen is very small but packed with some fun, top-level, modern equipment. We started with a sage tea, a very berry smoothie, lox, and a ham and cheese croissant sandwich with a side salad. Later, we tried a matcha affigato, blueberry muffin, and a vanilla latte to conclude our visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will return! There is a spa and inn attached, which we hope to check out in the future! There are about 6 tables outdoors over two separate areas, which would be fun to relax at when the weather is warmer. They were very friendly and welcoming during our extended stay.

Normally I don't leave negative reviews but I legitimately feel like this is a necessary public service announcement -- do not come here, it is a huge waste of your time.

You're probably in the Poconos looking to enjoy your time and not sit in a parking lot for an hour (or, if you prefer, a pitch dark cafe). I ordered a smoothie and a pour-over. My smoothie took an unbelievable 45 minutes to be made. The coffee took 60 minutes!! I cannot fathom how you justify waiting an hour for a coffee. There were maybe 8 total people in front of me when I ordered (2 parties of 4). There's no reason to wait that long for mid coffee.

They seem well aware of how egregiously long their stuff takes, they've just convinced themselves it's fine. I recommend using your precious life minutes anywhere else.

Edit: Owner responded, and I highly encourage you read it, because they say it better then I do. “Please come outside of rush hour”, “we are very small to handle that many people”, etc. They acknowledge it took 60 minutes for a cup of coffee. Their suggested solution is a roundabout way of saying please don’t come here, we can’t handle the business!

There were not 20 orders in front of me, that's just not true lol. Whatever makes you feel better. The two large groups outside were the family I mentioned above (who half were kids and probably did not order coffee.)

They are acting like they are the world's first coffee shop and no one has ever made coffee and smoothies before. 60 minute wait for a cup of joe is simply not normal...

We came here hoping to enjoy a casual brunch, and while the food and service were already disappointing. 90 minutes waiting and serving with cold food. Even worse, what shocked us the most was what happened after we left.

After one of us left an honest and respectful review describing our experience, the business started messaging her privately on social media, calling her phone repeatedly, and trying to guilt-trip her into changing the review. They mentioned being a small family-run place with children, but used that to deflect accountability rather than accept feedback.

This kind of emotional manipulation is not just unprofessional — it’s distressing and invasive. We were left feeling incredibly anxious, even unsafe, just because we shared our personal experience. Not everyone has the emotional capacity to deal with such harassment, especially those dealing with anxiety or depression.

A business should never try to silence or stalk its customers for giving honest feedback. It’s completely out of line. Please be cautious before supporting a place that crosses personal...

If you’re ever in the Pocono Mountains, The Mug Cafe is a must-visit spot for breakfast or a quick bite. This place has quickly become one of my favorite cafes, and it’s easy to see why. The ambiance is absolutely stunning, with an aesthetic that’s both cozy and chic, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal.

The breakfast options are fantastic, and the shakes are out of this world. My personal favorites include the Avocado Croissant, which is simply delightful. The Pistachio Cheesecake is a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth – it’s rich, creamy, and has the perfect balance of flavors.

When it comes to savory options, the Chicken Garlic Flatbread is a winner. The combination of tender chicken with the perfect hint of garlic on a crisp flatbread is mouthwatering. The Goat Cheese and Beets Salad is another standout dish; the fresh ingredients and the tangy goat cheese make for a refreshing and satisfying meal.

The Mug Cafe truly stands out as a curated cafe that delivers both in taste and atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this place is worth...
