Normally I don't leave negative reviews but I legitimately feel like this is a necessary public service announcement -- do not come here, it is a huge waste of your time.
You're probably in the Poconos looking to enjoy your time and not sit in a parking lot for an hour (or, if you prefer, a pitch dark cafe). I ordered a smoothie and a pour-over. My smoothie took an unbelievable 45 minutes to be made. The coffee took 60 minutes!! I cannot fathom how you justify waiting an hour for a coffee. There were maybe 8 total people in front of me when I ordered (2 parties of 4). There's no reason to wait that long for mid coffee.
They seem well aware of how egregiously long their stuff takes, they've just convinced themselves it's fine. I recommend using your precious life minutes anywhere else.
Edit: Owner responded, and I highly encourage you read it, because they say it better then I do. “Please come outside of rush hour”, “we are very small to handle that many people”, etc. They acknowledge it took 60 minutes for a cup of coffee. Their suggested solution is a roundabout way of saying please don’t come here, we can’t handle the business!
There were not 20 orders in front of me, that's just not true lol. Whatever makes you feel better. The two large groups outside were the family I mentioned above (who half were kids and probably did not order coffee.)
They are acting like they are the world's first coffee shop and no one has ever made coffee and smoothies before. 60 minute wait for a cup of joe is simply not normal...

After one of us left an honest and respectful review describing our experience, the business started messaging her privately on social media, calling her phone repeatedly, and trying to guilt-trip her into changing the review. They mentioned being a small family-run place with children, but used that to deflect accountability rather than accept feedback.
This kind of emotional manipulation is not just unprofessional — it’s distressing and invasive. We were left feeling incredibly anxious, even unsafe, just because we shared our personal experience. Not everyone has the emotional capacity to deal with such harassment, especially those dealing with anxiety or depression.
A business should never try to silence or stalk its customers for giving honest feedback. It’s completely out of line. Please be cautious before supporting a place that crosses personal...
Read moreIf you’re ever in the Pocono Mountains, The Mug Cafe is a must-visit spot for breakfast or a quick bite. This place has quickly become one of my favorite cafes, and it’s easy to see why. The ambiance is absolutely stunning, with an aesthetic that’s both cozy and chic, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal.
The breakfast options are fantastic, and the shakes are out of this world. My personal favorites include the Avocado Croissant, which is simply delightful. The Pistachio Cheesecake is a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth – it’s rich, creamy, and has the perfect balance of flavors.
When it comes to savory options, the Chicken Garlic Flatbread is a winner. The combination of tender chicken with the perfect hint of garlic on a crisp flatbread is mouthwatering. The Goat Cheese and Beets Salad is another standout dish; the fresh ingredients and the tangy goat cheese make for a refreshing and satisfying meal.
The Mug Cafe truly stands out as a curated cafe that delivers both in taste and atmosphere. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this place is worth...
