Draft Pic's Pub-Grub & Pizza — Restaurant in Mount Vernon

Went in for dinner tonight before a play. There were 7 of us in our group and the only people sitting in the back room. We were sitting in direct view of the person bartending/waiting tables. After drinks were brought to our table and the dinner order taken, we had not seen our waitress for quite some time, our glasses sat empty. We heard the food buzzer ring 3 separate times and quite a few minutes a part. At that time I was prepared for cold food. Sure enough our burgers and sandwiches were cold along with the french fries. We had a play to get to and did not have the time to ask for our food to be reheated. What is really frustrating is that at any other restaurant the cook would have brought out the food himself when he realized the waitress wasn't coming to get the order. The last two times prior to this, we walked out of there because no one came to take our order. What happened to the great customer service that used to be there?? It always happens when we sit in that back room, and the reason we choose to sit back there is because it is less chaotic back there. The deep fried pickle fries were great and fresh out of the deep fryer. We were disappointed that you got rid of your crinkle cut fries. The rest of the food was cold. Used to be on of our favorite...

Ok so I have been a few times and enjoy it overall...

However!...

I hope they don't take this the wrong way, I am just trying to provide feedback for future possible quality improvement (according to me, of course)...

As I was drinking a beer and watching football, during the last visit, I was suddenly over-powered by the stench of cleaning products!

I dont know about you, but this takes me back to high school days when I was hung over and mom busted out the vacuum and nauseating cleaning products at 9 am on a Sunday morning!

Upon catching a whiff of this cleaning product that they were actively using, while I was swilling my beer!, I was instantly transported back 40 years in time! To that terrible barf-inducing Sunday morning scenario.

I asked myself if I can come back to this bar...

I mean I totally appreciate that they want to be proactively clean and everything; but, just the thought of drinking beer and smelling those smells sends a clockwork-orange-like shock- wave of nausea over my mind and body...cringe city...

I suggest maybe a much less odorous cleaning product?!

Or maybe just using the product ONLY before open and after close - and not using it in between?!? While people are trying to enjoy their food and beverage!?

Don't go in much because of a past experience, but last night took the cake. New Years Eve, sat at a table, got zero service. Went to the bar and ordered a pizza, went back to table. No service. Went back to bar and ordered a drink. The bartender said i was slurring my words and refused to serve me one single drink! So i told him to put the pizza in a go box and left. The pizza was absolutely horrible, the worst i think i have ever gotten. Usually the food there wasn't that bad, but this was a joke. I had had three shots of pink tequila, which is 15% alcohol before i went and that was all i had to drink. I had smoke a joint prior too, but obviously the young ass serving me didnt care. This was at 9pm btw, and ALSO, my wife, had ordered her drink before i did, got her WATER and her TEA, was OBVIOUSLY the DD, and still, this horse's ass wouldn't serve me. Worst bar in M.V. spend your $...
