Bad, bad, bad. We arrived at 5 pm and were told wait time was 90 minutes. Not a problem. We were prepared for that. At 6:50 pm, we were still not seated and asked for something for the three children, ages 5, 3 and 2, to nibble on. The hostess said she was more than willing to oblige that request. At 7:15 pm, my sister in law went over to Culver's and brought back some snack bites for the children. During our wait, I got to witness one particular hostess walk into the kitchen, stuff her face full of food and walk back out and return to the hostess stand while she was still chewing her food. Isn't this against health regulations???
After getting seated at about 7:20 pm., I was informed by our waiter that they ran out of the ingredients to make my hamburger. So, I ordered a different hamburger., which they were able to make.
Our waiter did not return to our table very often which lead to my getting up and finding someone that would refill our drinks. This is sad!
I noticed the manager was constantly visiting a certain table that was having a birthday celebration but would not go to any other table. I had planned to discuss these issues with him but he would not walk past that one particular table.
At the end of our 4 hour venture at this establishment, I received and paid my check. I didn't complain about the high prices, long wait, unsanitary observances, being lied to by the staff or the lack of availability to the waiter. It was not his fault. Instead, I left him a smaller tip and on my ticket I wrote a noted to him explaining my reasoning for my actions: "This tip is a reflection of the poor management of this facility, not your service."
I walked up to the manager who was at the Hostess stand and I asked him if he was indeed the manager and he said "Yes". I instructed him that I wanted him to personally deliver my ticket to our waiter and explain it to him.
We received a phone call from my sister in law whom stated that the manager apologized and gave her 21 discount coupons to make it up to us. Seriously????? I will go out of my way to NOT spend money at this facility anymore. Instead, I will take those 21 food coupons and distribute them to homeless and needy people throughout the community.
I will...
Read moreWe recently visited BJ’s Brewhouse in Murfreesboro with a party of 10. Beforehand, someone in our group was told there’d be no need for reservations—thankfully, I went ahead and made one anyway. That turned out to be a smart move, because we would’ve had a very different experience without it.
The restaurant itself was clean and the ambiance was fine—nothing particularly memorable, but comfortable enough. Unfortunately, the service and overall dining experience left a lot to be desired.
We waited quite a while before placing our orders, only to find out that one of the restaurant’s top menu items had run out. While that in itself isn’t a big issue, our server failed to mention this ahead of time, which would’ve saved time and hassle. For a party of 10, our orders were straightforward: everyone on separate tickets, one vegan guest, and one with a gluten allergy—both of whom knew exactly what they wanted. Still, the process was sluggish and disorganized.
Once the food arrived, several items were missing. We had to repeatedly ask for basics like condiments and drink refills. At one point, my sister was handed an empty A1 bottle and told, “I just shook it up,” which was both frustrating and dismissive. The food came out cold, and when we asked for it to be re-cooked, we waited nearly another hour.
Our server was largely absent during this time, and when the manager finally came over, she asked what I wanted them to do to make it right. I really would’ve appreciated a proactive suggestion instead of being asked to come up with the solution myself. At that point, it felt like the entire table needed their food remade, and the gesture of comping a single dessert—a “world famous” cookie—just didn’t make up for everything that had gone wrong.
Not to mention, the soap was out in the bathroom—and we saw servers going in and out of there. That made us wonder whether proper handwashing protocols were even being followed, which is a serious concern.
I understand restaurants have off days and that large groups can be challenging, but this experience made it clear that BJ’s is struggling to deliver basic service. While I appreciate the clean space and the attempt to make things right, this isn’t a place I’ll be...
Read moreWhere do I begin… I booked an 8pm reservation a month prior to getting married because we decided based off the reviews that this restaurant would be a good choice to enjoy our post wedding meal… we patronized once after I tried on wedding dresses and had an awesome server and the food was good so we confirmed our reservation for the second time prior to leaving… I called to confirm a third time prior to our reservation date to be extra sure we wouldn’t have any issues due to us having a larger party… on the DAY OF we arrived 15 minutes prior to our 8pm reservation and had met the supervisor of the bakery we had deliver our cake to be told they couldn’t set up the wedding cake due to no tables being ready… I was then told 2 different stories by 2 different hostesses about our reservation and why no tables we ready… I spoke with the manager Michael who confirmed my initial reservation and second confirmation and he simply said they were getting us taken care of… we did not get seated until 8:20pm and the tables we had were crammed against the wall which have no room for the handicapped individuals to be seated in our party… we only have ONE server for our party of 14 (who got overwhelmed as expected due to lack of help)… half of our food was incorrect and/or inadequately cooked… we had to send back an order twice and still was incorrect on the next try… Michael (the manager) after speaking with him had no empathy whatsoever and accepted no responsibility, it wasn’t until my husband pulled him aside for the THIRD time that he agreed to take the burned appetizer and incorrect order off our ticket in addition to a 20% discount on our bill… I am so beyond disappointed and disgusted with our experience not only will myself and husband never recommend this restaurant but our family that drove 8+ hours will also not return upon visiting our family again
What was supposed to be a nice and enjoyable post wedding meal with our family turned into a restaurant experience from hell. Because we are good people, that 20% that was taken off our bill was tipped to our one and only overwhelmed server to bless his night after such chaos. If not for him, and not being able to rate lower this place would’ve...
