Walked in, the language barrier was immediately an issue, okay fine, we are a multicultural nation so that’s not a big deal. HOWEVER, body language is universal, there was an attitude and a glare from both employees. This wasn’t even my main issue, in conjunction to the horrendous service, they have now started using a TEASPOON to share the vegetables, what!?! A teaspoon??? And for some reason the employee was so disgusted when I requested extra vegetables after giving me 1 teaspoon of corn, this is comical. I walked out! I would have ended up spending $50, which is what I normally spend because yes, Cava is overpriced but sometimes I don’t mind paying for what I want. However when I am getting a teaspoon of veggies, that is insulting. These large corporations are literally ripping us off. Come on veggies are so cheap and you are so committed to cheating your customers that you are willing to serve with a TEASPOON, be so fr. To the employees that served me, your attitudes were outright disrespectful and off putting. Are you guys the CEO of Cava by any chance? Is the extra veggies coming directly from your paychecks? Why were you guys so personally offended that I wanted my money’s worth? Serious question? I am almost certain you guys are being overworked and not fairly compensated, as the system and large corporations like Cava, typically takes advantage of low level employees, so why are you guys going so hard to conserve their merchandise??? Tell me, what 1 extra tea spoon of corn was going to do? Bankrupt this location? Is that it??? I walked out mid service. I no longer shop and spend my hard earned money in places that I am blatantly disrespected in and when the staff strategically tries to short change me. Do better Cava!!!! Specifically this location. Management needs revision. Initially the young lady was serving me (gave me a minuscule portion of rice) and when I asked her if that was all the rice I was allowed, she for the life of me couldn’t understand, then the young man came over as a translator and he also could not speak English, not even conversational, beginner’s English. This is an issue than can be fixed over time, however the nasty attitudes and the intentional underserving is where I draw the line. I listed all of this detail so you can remember what customer this was, those two employees know what they did. I can tell business is on the decline due to how empty the store was on a Friday afternoon. No one was in there when my friend and I stepped in. Maybe the general public doesn’t like being disrespected and shortchanged. Do better. I will be reaching out to corporate about the usage of teaspoons to...
Read moreWe somehow ended up here on opening day without realizing it, and I'm so glad we did. As a family, we love eating at all different types of food, and Mediterranean food is one we adore.
The location is perfect, and while the whole building isn't complete, once it is, it's going to be absolutely wonderful. The inside is so bright and refreshing. There is so much seating for everyone.
The workers were on top of their game. They were all so nice and just absolutely wonderful. Everyone made this visit just an absolute delight.
I love how the menu is very clear on build your own or chef creations. We have never been to Cava, but we have been to several other Mediterranean restaurants before, so we thought we had a general idea of how this was going to be. We never realized it was the create your own type kind of place, think along the lines of Subway, Ghengis Grill, or Chipotle, but humus, fresh veggies, meat, rice, and pitas.
We obviously went with the chef inspired meals: Steak Mezze Salad, Harrisa Avocado Salad, Spicy Lamb Meatball Pita, and a kid's customized pita meal. You can leave anything out of the meals or add anything you want, and you're involved with the building of your meal every step of the way.
My husband's complaint is that the spicy lamb had no flavor and that the pita wasn't rolled at all, so everything was leaking and fell out. He's going to get a salad next time.
If you do like spice, I highly recommend getting the Harrisa Avocado Salad, which I'm sure you could get in a pita because it was kicking my butt. There is also a Harrisa Avocado sauce, so I'm sure that is spicy too. While the flavors were absolutely great, I just wasn't expecting so much heat. That was on me, not on Cava. I saw avocado and went for it, not reading that Harissa had the word hot right in front of it.
The kids loved their meals and have now asked when the other Murfreesboro location gets up and running, that we frequent it often. We're going to need to get a second or third income to keep up. Thanks, Cava.
Oh, and before I forget, there's a giant selection of juices. I only tried one, cucumber mint lime, and I loved it. Everyone else loved all of theirs. I'm not entirely sure what they got, though, so I can't recommend them, just that we've tried at least four at this point, and the picky family gave the approval.
Sorry for only one picture, we were...
Read moreMe and my friend placed pickup orders here last week. When we got here like 15 min later, hers was ready immediately and mine took an extra 5 minutes just for them to completely mess up my order. They left out half of what i ordered, including the tomatoes and cucumbers and extra cucumber i ordered. They forgot other ingredients, and BOTH of my side sauces. This was my first time ordering here ever and i was so excited for something actually better than Chipotle just for it to be a complete disappointment. The cherry on top was how rude the workers were, i swear to god they gotta be racist. All 4 of them completely overlooked me to serve every other customer besides me, including my white friend who showed up AFTER ME !! Are you kidding ?? Just disgusting. When i came back in to get my sauces after noticing they forgot them, the teenage male working the front didn’t say a word to me. Barely even looked at me, its like they were all trying to make me feel like an inconvenience. I wouldn’t come back here but ill try a different location and see if maybe they’ll treat me like an actual person and maybe not mess up my order entirely. This was so disappointing, i spent $16 on a tiny ass bowl of salad (they gave me the tiniest scoop of chicken it was insane) and an overpriced drink. Both the food and the drink were yummy but the disrespect and messing up my order so bad was just beyond disappointing. I can’t believe how good the other reviews are, im so sure half of them are faked. Wouldnt really recommend this place...
