I hate leaving reviews. However, this review was due to disrespect I received from a child worker/host at this restaurant. I came in on 8/18/2024 around 5-6pm as a solo customer. I walked in and was not greeted by the host or waitress standing at the hostess station. After 1-2 minutes of just standing there with no eye contact or anything. The boy (white) turned to me and said can I help you? He was talking low so I had to ask many times for him to repeat what he was saying due to the restaurant being super loud from guest. I asked for a table for one and he said it would be a few minutes. No gesture to sit at bar or outside. I waited a few minutes and asked is it not okay to sit outside? He stated, yes here you go. Shoving me menus and gestured for me to find my own table and someone with come up to me when they come out there. I was so shocked! I asked what did you just say again? He said, “ YOU can find a seat outside whatever one you want and amber or Jason will be your waitress. Normally, I would’ve walked out by now cause I felt very uncomfortable and just pushed off like I was bothering this child by eating at the restaurant. After finding a seat. I noticed another couple (Hispanic) going through the same thing walking to find a seat with their menus in hand and no HOSTESS. Amberly, came and assisted me with my drink and food order, and offered to bring bread when it was finished in the oven. I didn’t wait long for my drinks, and Chicken tortilla soup (which was very cold) I still ate it due to being hungry lol. My bread came out after and food was a beautiful sight to my eyes. Firebirds has always been a great place for fresh food and great drinks. I frequent Brentwood location often. As I was eating I was noticing someone on a scooter scooting around to the bar and around the restaurant but could not see a face. After eating 1/3 of my plate the scooter was coming outside which I noticed was the host. He was accompanying a solo (Caucasian) lady to her seat with menu in his hand and all. She was offering him help due to his injury but he was determined to seat her. I did feel it was necessary to point out race for this situation. He chose not to help me an African American business woman and another Hispanic couple. It definitely made me feel uncomfortable eating there. After seating the lady, another hostess came out (white girl with a stripe sweater and glasses) I greeted her with a smile as she came out since I was right at the door. She walked out looking me straight in my face rolling her eyes and proceeding the clean the table behind me. A few moments later here comes the scooter again with multiple menus assisting a group of 5/6 Caucasian guest to their table. Swing his scooter in my space, hitting my chairs and not apologizing. At this point I did not finish my food and felt as if I was bothering the staff by being there. I was ready to pay and go. But I could not do that without thinking about how good Amberly was to me. I tipped her and let her know of my concerns. While speaking about how good she was as a waitress and very attentive. (She would be a great manager) she listened to me, empathized and begged me to let her grab the manager to see if the could discount my meal or do anything. I told her as a business owner of an luxury hospitality business in Nashville. I did not think I would be discriminated (which happens in Murfreesboro often still in 2024) against like this. I don’t need a discount due to my food being perfect but disappointing by staff being rude and very condescending. I let amberly know that if it wasn’t for her being so great I would’ve been more vocal. Sadly the host would be the reason that this red would lose customers and not experience the great service I received by amberly. I wanted her to know in 2024 we do not have time for children that are raised by racist parents being taught to discriminate at home. He may be a doctor one day and will discriminate against minorities or POC do to his upbringing. Be aware that this will be your experience by eating here.

Summary: it's good but not as good/nice/comfortable as the Brentwood location. Last night, I joined some lady friends at Firebirds in Murfreesboro for dinner. We had a reservation, so we got in with no wait. Unfortunately, parking is minimal; I actually parked in a takeaway spot. When I left, there were people parked on the road that runs behind the restaurant. Currently, there's nothing really behind the restaurant, but that's a developing location... I can't imagine the city will be happy about street parking there once it's developed. The table we were at was strangely close to a server's station with pitchers of tea literally RIGHT behind my friend. Not only were they right behind her, the tops of the pitchers were right below the top of the back of her chair, so it just seemed ... Again, like a bad idea. Our server was very kind and attentive. Zero complaints or strange things about her from me! The food (no limits meal; I did not ask for or limit to gluten free, though I did note minimal labels for GF on the menu): We started with lobster spinach queso and bacon deviled eggs. The queso was really good, but the ratio of chips to queso was off. We had at least 40% of our chips left, and I don't think we were going completely wild with the dipping. We did get the last drop of the dip, though. I could taste the flavor of the lobster all the way through, so I really enjoyed it, but one of my friends said the red pepper or some veg in it was taking away from the flavor. The bacon deviled eggs were beautiful coming out! They're plated for looks, though, not the balanced bite. It's a creative choice I'm not a huge fan of, but to each their own. I don't like having to rearrange my dish to get a balanced bite. And speaking of rearranging: my friend chose these because of the description and then was surprised when they came out with thick slices of jalapeno and "hot looking ingredients" that were not listed on the menu. I tend to agree, though I will not decline spicy things... Some people cannot handle it. It should be listed. The bread that came out was pale, forgettable, and right on the edge of doughy. We did not finish it despite it being really the correct size for a table of 3. I will say it was perfectly bland for a bite to be dipped in my au jus and soak that entire flavor up. For entrees, we had the tomahawk pork chop, the cedar grilled salmon, and the prime rib. My friend who got the tomahawk pork chop very much enjoyed the chop. She said the sauce that came on it was awesome and she couldn't wait to finish the rest later. She also ordered a side of corn but neither finished it nor took it home. She said it was nothing like she expected, though she didn't say it was bad. Again, could be a menu description issue. Another friend had the cedar smoked salmon with veggies and mashed potatoes. Her nice summary was that the veggies were the best tasting thing on her plate. The garlic mashed potatoes were fairly bland (I did try them). She left the majority of them on the plate. My prime rib was good. The creamy horseradish sauce was exactly what it needed, so I'm glad I requested it (and a cup to take the leftovers home). We did of course order a ton of food, so I took about half of my meal home (if not a little more). I didn't leave any food behind on my plate. The steak fries were delicious, well seasoned, and crispy. My friend who got the mashed potatoes regretted the deal we made to be able to taste two types of potatoes from them... But at least I share! The drinks: I had two old fashioneds with two different bourbons. Their rye selection is limited, so keep that in mind. My friends had a cocktail and a beer. No complaints about any of the drinks. They came out quickly and as expected. They were good and well made, but not the best in town. All in all, I think they might still have a few kinks to work out, but it was a good meal. With the abundance of local choices around, the competition is more fierce than it was a few years ago, and I'm glad we have more finer dining options in town.

Edit: Went for my second time on Thursday, October 12 around 11:30. It was not the same service. The Front Staff looked miserable and it took them too long to acknowledge us. Then when we were seated she had no menus. She said that they ran out and she would need to find some. We waited for a Server that never came. I had to stop a Server to see if she could assist. She said, “I can take your drink orders and see who has your table.” I noticed behind us the Server Angel and I said, “Do you remember me? You said to ask to sit in your section next time.” She was very sweet and took our orders for us. We then did get our drinks. Thanks to Angel for stepping up and assisting us. This was my friends First time and she was not happy about the entire ordeal. She liked her Fish Tacos. Not certain if she would return. My Original Review: Such a beautiful new upscale restaurant right here on Medical Center Parkway. Convenient if traveling from Nashville on I-24 and in Murfreesboro. How fortunate for us all in Murfreesboro! Gorgeous stocked full bar. Very spacious inside with booths to accommodate four and six persons. Chair table seating for four. Private room with door too. Excellent Service! Darian our Server was just superb! Especially since they have only been open for three days. Everyone is still learning the menu, drinks and food preparation. We also had the sweetest Server Angel come over just to compliment me on my upbeat personality that brought her joy. She asked us to please sit in her section next time. ❤️ Delicious thick Bread to break with friends and family! Amazing Salads! The Shrimp and Salad tasted so delicious. I highly recommend both!! Definitely worth the price. If you want a yummy dessert do not order one. Leave and go out after dinner somewhere else. We tried the Brownie and Ice -cream and the Chocolate Cake and Ice-cream. Neither were any good and were a huge disappointment to chocolate lovers. Both desserts were overly microwaved and looked like a soupy mess. (See last pic.) Great restaurant for a special occasion, date, or casual dining. This will be your new favorite restaurant. We plan to return soon;)

Be aware that this will be your experience by...

With the abundance of local choices around, the competition is more fierce than it was a few years ago, and I'm glad we have more finer dining...
