We stopped in for lunch after a Dr appointment. We had never been here before. The staff is very friendly and prompt with service. The atmosphere is clean, great decor, offers both indoor and outdoor dining, looks like a great social spot too. They offer trivia nights, volleyball, and various other indoor and outdoor activities. They seem to have a fully stocked bar and if you're into craft beer they have many. Of course they offer domestic beer too. Now to the FOOD....... WE ORDERED ...... For a starter house tots $9. Now I have to say that we were shocked at 8 yes EIGHT tots on the plate for $9. That is an exceedingly steep price for 8 tots. They were tepid in temperature and honestly very mediocre. If I am paying over $1 a tot, I want them to be the best dang tots I've ever tasted . SADLY this definitely was NOT the case. NOT EVEN CLOSE. For our main entres..... My husband had The Half Loaf $15. "The original" Italian sandwich, which was a little concerning due to the size of the portion! This thing was very interesting to say the least. 3 slices of meat you could see through, melted cheese, a smattering of lettuce with a cut of tomatoe as thick as the rest of the sandwich all crammed on a very small hoagie roll. Very disappointing especially with the cold fries. I had the Chicken Tenders $12 with an upgrade to sweet potato fries $1, for a total of $13. Now in all honesty we should have seriously lowered our expectations after we were served our House Tots Appetizer, but for some reason I still had high hopes. I guess I'm just an optimist at heart . There were 5 small tenders that at first appearance looked over cooked, and only 1 seemed to be actually juicy. Out of 5, 3 were eaten. 1 was juicy, 2 were dry, the rest is going to the dogs when we get home. I honestly was expecting a beer batter chicken tender, but it definitely was not. The sweet potato fries were truly good. But only luke warm. Something that really got us, there were absolutely zero condiments on an table. You had to ask for EVERYTHING. Including salt and pepper. When we asked for a little cup of ranch for the chicken and a little cup of sour cream for the SPFries, we got it it post haste, but when we got the check we found out for the cost of $1.50. $0.75 each. Seriously??? And of course the usual charging for a glass of wine what you would pay for a whole bottle at the store. To sum up. The staff truly was nice. The environment is nice. But not worth the effort to get here for food. I know we...
Read moreOkay let me just say we love the goat, and my boyfriend and I come every couple of months, and we were excited to show my brother this place on his visit to town. Last night we came, and sat at the bartop for the first time, which was great (our server dude was also great, s/o to him!). We thought the menu looked different, but didn't think too much of it. I LOVE the chicken gyro, and it's one of my go-tos, or at least it used to be. When I was ordering, I did not realize how much it had changed because I thought it was the same. The new version is nothing like the old version (it used to have choice of grilled or blackened chicken, feta, greens, tomato, cucumber, chickpeas, and tzatziki) but on the new one none of the original deliciousness is to be found, aside from the chicken. The new one has a black bean spread as the base which was so incredibly spicy (in like a sneaky way - not sure why, it was just listed as black bean spread on menu) that I could not bear to finish the bottom center section of my gyro!! I didn't want to tell our server that the gyro wasnt what I expected because I didn't want to seem rude, so that one's on me. Also, not sure if they were running a limited menu due to nye, but we were sad to see that there were only 2 burger options available on this new menu as we used to love their burger selection (especially the goat burger). Boyfriend had the chicken goat sandwich which he enjoyed (but said it could have used a little more pizzazz in terms of toppings), and the spice on the pimento cheese spread was definitely lower than whatever was in the black bean spread on my gyro (honestly the spice in the bean spread may have come from the deepest depths of hell, it had me tearing up). Brother also enjoyed the nashvegas burger but said it was also slightly lacking in terms of overall toppings. Waffle fries were great though! Change can be good, but this new smaller menu overall is not really it compared to the old one, or at least not for us. Service was good though for it being nye, and again our server was great and the other girls behind the bar were also great at checking for drink refills (I loved the jeweled cowboy hat the one had on, and both their outfits were total...
Read moreI’ve been to The Goat several times, but my most recent visit was by far the best, and that’s thanks to Lindsey! From the moment we arrived, Lindsey went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. She greeted us with a warm, genuine smile and immediately made us feel at home. Her positive energy is contagious, and it’s clear she truly cares about the people she’s serving.
Lindsey’s knowledge of the menu was impressive—she gave us thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences, and each dish turned out to be a hit. We tried a variety of items, and everything from the appetizers to the main courses was delicious and beautifully presented. It’s rare to find a server who can balance professionalism with such a personable approach, but Lindsey nails it. She checked on us regularly without being overbearing, and she made sure our drinks were always topped up, which is something I really appreciate.
The restaurant was quite busy, but Lindsey never seemed rushed or stressed. She handled everything with ease and always made us feel like we were her top priority. It’s clear that she’s not only great at her job but also loves what she does, and that makes all the difference. Her attention to detail, warmth, and efficiency truly elevated our experience at The Goat.
If you’re planning a visit, I highly recommend asking for Lindsey—you won’t be disappointed! She’s a true asset to the team, and we’ll definitely be back thanks to her excellent service. Five stars all the way!
