Y'all I hate to give perfect scores, for 2 main reasons - but I did. The reasons are simple: first, studies show people reading reviews seldom believe or read 5⭐ and second, most everything and everyone could have something, no matter how small, which can be tweaked. In fact, the first visit was so good, I held the review and went back.
OK, so here's the deal. I used to go to a similar style place elsewhere. And even though I liked the place, it would never get a perfect score. (Not here but they) often had a bad odor - like a floor drain was not kept wet or something needed to go out back to the happy blue metal box. And since you built your own bowl there, you could, how can I say it, you could avoid the squid or other as necessary.
Now I have not been to a Mongolian build-a-bowl since COVID. So there I was trying to support a local business that looked like it needed help for a while until one day (Rutherford Co didn't have a mask mandate - and restaurants never had to have them) and as I came in they demanded I wear a mask between walking in the door and them bringing my food (which I wouldn't have to wear once served).
I offered to order and stand outside. NO! You will wear the mask. I can't breathe with something over my face. It puts the mask upon its face or it gets the hose. We had the magic 6' "unsocial distance" thing (which there was 3 times over space to accommodate). NO! IT PUTS THE MASK 😷 UPON ITS FACE OR IT GETS THE HOSE AGAIN! (I remember thinking - y'all oughtta hose this joint out! So I never went back again.
Prayers were answered when I found Golden Grill!
Perhaps the selection isn't as vast but no malodorous vapours, clean restroom 🚻 (I don't go into lady's room so I can't vouch for that), neat as a pin dining area and personable staff - more than make up for that.
Most pictures are from the build your own bowl but today I tried a small "golden bowl." Wonderful. The lady even met me with a "Welcome 🤗 back."
I fully recommend Golden Grill Mongolian & Japanese restaurant. It's down South Church street near the Auto zone across from Bojangles. Plenty of parking. Try them.
Oh, and if you dine in - you get real tableware 🥄. Plastic is available for takeaway or if you just...
Read moreMy Brother and I were a little skeptical when we pulled in the parking lot. There were not a-lot of cars in the parking spaces. But we seen on Google reviews this place got a 4.8 stars. He lives in the area and heard its really good. So we thought-lets go in check it out.
It is a very small spot as soon as you walk in you are greeted by the cashier and decide what size bowl you want snd pay. This place is like Genghi’s grill where you fill your bowl up with vegetables, sauces, and meats. They cook them adding rice or Lo Mein noodles on a Mongolian grill while you wait.
This place is a hidden gem in Murfreesboro! Our food was fresh and cooked to Perfection! My brother loaded his up with meats and Shrimp. I did more veggies and chicken. We will definitely go back! The staff was very friendly and made sure the food was good. Great place to eat! Not only great food but friendly employees who I believe really take pride in Golden Grill. I got the impression this may be family ran. By the time we left, people were coming in with their friends and family. So check it out! It was refreshing to have a good meal for what...
Read moreBeen waiting for Golden Grill Mongolian & Japanese Cuisine to open and while driving by today saw the “Grand Opening” flags out so pulled in to give them a shot. They just opened on 4/22 and the lady running the register and introducing you to their cuisine was so sweet and welcoming. If you’ve been to a Mongolian BBQ place this is much the same. You can either select one of their main offerings or you can “build your own” bowl. You have beef, chicken, pork, sausage, and seafood to select from, fresh vegetables, spices, and sauces. We did two chicken and one steak bowl and everything was cooked well and the vegetables were not soft, the fried rice and noodles were good. The bowls come in two sizes and you can stuff as much into the bowl as you can (the protein like rice or noodles is not a part of the bowl) and then present it for cooking.
The saturation of Asian and Latin food establishments in Murfreesboro makes for stiff competition. Overall the food was good and the service excellent, but for me there are better options for Asian food in...
