Wow. This used to be my go to place in so many areas but a recent incident has me very concerned.
First, I want to agree with the poor reviews for costumer service. It has dropped and I guess its somewhat understandable considering the circumstances but the problem I'm really concerned with is with the auto refill.
Typically, I will order at the store. I have a tendency to change my mind once I actually get there but one day I was in a rush and ordered ahead. After already placing my order, I was kind of forced into paying a 25 dollar amount to add into their account which just subtracts from that for future orders. Not horribly bad but I do feel that this was a little tricky. I do go there a lot so it wasn't a huge deal. But, I guess I missed the fine print because after getting down to 5 bucks, IT AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED ME 25 AGAIN!! It wasn't even fully depleted and I was totally unaware of it being in auto refill!!! Wow. Super shady. After the kind of poor costumer service on recent visits, I think I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Such a shame, I have hundreds of dollars spent here in less than a year. But, I do NOT like anyone messing with my money on, not one but two very tricky transactions. The first one was unsettling but yah...the second one was unacceptable. And, I don't care if the owners try to explain that it's in the fine print. You can read in my fine print that I don't like nobody messing with money. What a horrible business technique. Or, I should say, a GREAT technique to make me take my business somewhere else.
Looking through the photos, I'm like the only customer that posts photos. I have several in their feed. I have had multiple owners USE MY INSTAGRAM PHOTO for advertising. And this isn't even my main place. Mine is in lake forest. If anything, they should be GIVING ME A BONUS... not trying to scam me into forcing me to spend money at their store. Read moreI placed an order on the app & waited a bit to go pick it up. When I got there I was informed that none of the items could be made. I had ordered 3 Acai Bowls & they were out of Acai. The shipment wasn't there yet. My husband decided he didn't want anything else so I asked the boys working if they could refund one of the bowls & make the other bowls with a different base. They had no idea how to refund and made it sound like, if I didn't want a replacement item, there was nothing they could do to refund the item. I asked if they would call their manager to figure out how to refund the item. That was on Aug 6th and I just realized I still have not received a refund. The boys were nice, but they really shouldn't be running the store with the very limited knowledge they have in customer service. Like it's been mentioned in other reviews, the place is run down and not very clean. It would have been great to have received a phone call stating they could not fulfill my order, so much of my time was wasted. And it's surprising that they were out of product. So be forewarned - if you place an app order, you may want to call to make sure they are able to fulfill your order...
Read moreFrom the front the place looks run down and closed. My husband had to do a double take before walking in to make sure it was the right place. We ordered two acai bowls. They were both runny and watered down, not what an acai bowl should be! He went in to have the base remade for one, it was only slightly better than the first. They must add a lot of other things besides açaí to save money because the coloring was off too. The second bowl he ordered was the peanut butter acia bowl. This one was awful, not only was it runny (like a smoothie), the taste was off and there was little to no açaí in the bowl… it was a very light tan color. They told my husband they don’t give refunds and if he wanted a new one made we’d have to pay for it. Clearly the young people who work here aren’t train well and lack customer service skills. The owners and managers are at fault for that. When my husband asked to speak to a manager, one wasn’t on staff.
