Soooo......

I'd been wanting to try this place for years bc I'd heard about their hash browns. And they disappointed a little.

They weren't awful. I totally see what they're going for and the shock factor is definitely there even if you know what you're in for. Definitely a massive loaded hash brown. However, the ingredients were a bit cheap and didn't seem very fresh. The quality of the cook on the hashbrowns seemed decent and it tasted good but food rating would've been 5/5 if the veggies and meats were better quality.

The restaurant itself needs a lot of work. Cleaning. Updating. Repairing. Lots of stuff wasn't working when we visited, including the griddle, I believe. My friends also said there was a bad odor (I'm usu the first to smell stuff but I guess I was too excited to try the hash browns lol) that hit them as soon as we walked in.

Staff was excellent and very friendly, though a bit flustered due to all the non-functional appliances.

I'm happy to have visited but I won't be returning unless there's report of...

I went in no one greeted me. I wasn't sure if I waited to be sat or seat yourself. Staff kept passing by. I finally stopped a waitress and asked. So we finally got a table. I ordered my son 2 pancakes. I ordered the 222 and added toast to my order. We asked for 2 sodas. The sodas tasted awful. I told the staff about it but was brushed off and told she thought it tasted fine. One of the staff said it was running funny and looked watery . So I ordered a apple juice in stead. So we waited over 40 minutes to get the first plate. They only gave my son 1 pancake. I told the waitress he's supposed to get 2 she told me the kitchen staff said its supposed to be 1 but the menu clearly states 2. Then I waited an additional 10 to 15 minutes for my food. I was not impressed by it at all. And they didn't even make me my pancakes. I will never go back to this establishment. I should have went to Brunch House but this was closer to my house. NEVER...

A very good restaurant!!! The food was really good. It took some time for the food to be served (it’s a family restaurant after all) but when it was served my and my family were shocked at the size of the three dishes we ordered. For example, the burrito was as big as the plate. No kidding! I don’t mean this in a negative way, of course. As our server said, “You don’t leave Papa Bear’s without being full.” Speaking about the server, she was great! Very welcoming and talkative. Came around every few minutes to see whether anything was wrong. As for the ambience, the place was very friendly and warm. There’s some pictures attached. Not too over-the-top fancy, but not too plain either. The only small suggestion I have - maybe expand the ingredients? Of the omelet, burrito, and hash brown that me and my family ordered they all consisted of mostly hash browns - yes, hash browns even in the burrito - cheese, flour, etc. Overall...

Seriously this place is spot on for takeout. I can’t wait for Covid shut down to be over and check it out. We ordered the grizzly. It’s this heavenly hash browns with cheese, sausage, ham, light green peppers and sour cream. For $20 it fed 5 people and there was about 1/4 of it left. It’s so big they had to put it in two to-go cases. The potato were cooked all the way and I appreciate that there was just a few peppers so not to overwhelm. And there was no skimping on other toppings. I still can’t believe how much sour cream. It was not over the top but definitely not skimping. We also got biscuits and gravy. They were fantastic lots of gravy and fluffy biscuits. Honestly it was hard to decide what to keep eating.

This is such a wonderful family owned & operated breakfast restaurant. We always feel welcome when we visit & the food is exceptional. Robin is a phenomenal chef. The food is always made to order, hot & fresh. I definitely feel we are getting our money's worth when we leave with full bellies that didn't break the bank. I realize there are other breakfast restaurants in the area, but I just can not drive past Papa Bears. The food, service & prices are unbeatable. Thank you, Robin & family!!
