I went with my daughter this past Tuesday, 4/11/23. I was excited because it’s always been good food and good service. It was lunch and we had a dr apt nearby with an hour to spare. I let our server know that we had an appointment. She started out ok, but she was hard to flag down when we needed anything. I go out of my way to be polite, I have done this type of work in the past. I know what it’s like. When I was ready to pay because we had to leave for our appointment, she was again hard to flag down so when she came with the bill, I had my card ready and handed it to her. She takes it over to the server station does some thing, and then starts walking back in my direction, so I thought she was bringing it to me to sign. No, instead she proceeds to go help two other tables. I had to go right then and there because if I did not, I was going to be late for the appointment and we would have to reschedule and pay a fee. So I get up go over to the servers station, and she had ran my card and left it there. So I signed the piece of paper, and took my card. Normally I would tip, and I normally tip very well. This time I did not, because it was terrible service. I wake up this morning to check my bank account, and it was overdrawn because this server had tipped herself $10. This is stealing and shameful. I’m sad to say that this experience makes me never want to go back. If you would like to make this right, the total charged to my card was $54.58. I did not tip her,...

As a server here, I think it speaks volumes when you actually eat the food and see how it's prepared to the highest standard. I eat here every shift because the food is amazing! I am always raving to my tables about how the French Dip is the best in town. The Shrimp and Andouille Mac n Cheese is a newer item and it's so yummy! They also have Candied Brussels, Beer Can Nachos, Buddha Bowls, Burgers, Fried Chicken, Salmon, Steak, Sandwiches, Salads, Soups & more! If you love food, guaranteed you will find something you love here. The drink menu is just as diverse; from craft beers to fun cocktails, there is always something for everyone. My recommendation: try the Sugar Cookie Martini or Rum Punch! They offer many different dessert selections so if you're celebrating an anniversary or birthday, this is the place to be. The Creme Brulee (pictured) is delicious but they also have several other selections including Cheesecake, Carrot Cake, Strawberry Sorbet, Bread Pudding, Flourless Chocolate Torte & more! The menu is incredibly diverse. They can accommodate meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Because the menu is seasonal (the chef is always creating something new!), I recommend coming in soon before some of these amazing items are gone! The service is top notch and the food is on point....

I came in on 4Mar2022. The experience was pretty bad.

I used to come in every few weeks to month because their hushpuppies (which are no longer pn the menu) were great and they had good salmon and shrimp and grits.

However, tonight the experience was rough. I ordered the cornbread and it came out doughy and cold the first time. They bought another order out and still doughy, but hot like when I put a roll in the microwave.

We also ordered meals, and it was not what we have had in the past. The fried green tomatoes where thick and hard; it felt like biting into a raw green tomato, and the shrimp and grits were coated in oil where oil was pooling around the end. I didn't finish it and didn't want to take it home. It was simply not good. The fried green tomatoes also had oil pooled over them.

My partner ordered a burger, and it did look okay.

The server was very unapologetic, which I understand the food is not her fault, but even asking about the menu she seemed passive aggressive and not very knowledgeable about the menu (I mean she could have been new, so I get that) when I asked about some of the items.

Overall, this is very not what we've experienced in the past, but if the menu is remaining this way, then I'm super bummed because this place seemed like a great addition...

Amazing find! Our server, Miranda, was wonderful! She never missed a thing nor ever wrote any of it down! Miranda was very friendly, very patient and managing probably half of the tables yet never messed up nor rushed us! The menu has notably clean organic ingredients throughout and is unique in that everything has their own flare and flavor to it! In example, the cornbread and butter, nothing like one would imagine and so delicious! Fried cheese options are common, but their pepper jack tots are so good and nothing common. Collectively, we enjoyed & highly recommend the peach salsa, pepper jack tots, conspiracy burger, chicken & fruit salad, the beer battered catfish special & fried chicken bowl. All trying each others and loving it! Additionally, desserts: the Godiva cheesecake, brownie bottom cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake were ALL super rich and delicious and I believe from scratch! Chef Doug even came out to us upon our request, which of course was all for compliments and to plant a seed that they should open one local to us of course!!! Thank you Chef Doug & Miranda, we had a wonderful time, clearly the best eat around there and a wonderful choice for our birthday dinner celebration!

Update: their menu has changed and they no longer offer some of the items I've reviewed. I've been here a few times. I love not feeling crowded in a restaurant and I think the layout with the high tops being in the middle really help. Big windows and hardwoods make the place feel warm even without fabric treatments like other places. The food is always quite good, I've had the fish, tenders and burgers and the fries are consistent and crisp. The fry on the tenders is dark and their burgers are juicy. Always excellent service, one of my favorite places to go. Average price for a sit down burger joint and they have some oddities if you like to try new things. (Like the hot cheeto burrito). Parking is on the street or there are two lots behind the building, you'll travel up a hill or enter through the Rake brewery for stairs or an elevator to get to 794 kitchen&bar. The parking is free. The bathrooms are shared with the building and are always clean and nice.
