A Taste of Brazil in Myrtle Beach: Boteco VIP Delivers Excellence
If you're in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and looking for a culinary experience that transports you straight to Brazil, Boteco VIP is the place to be. I had the pleasure of dining there for lunch today, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of exceptional. From the food to the ambiance, everything was thoughtfully curated to provide a memorable experience.
The Caesar Salad: A Revelation I started with the Caesar salad, and it was a game-changer. The dressing was unlike any I’ve had before—rich, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. Even the cheese, which I usually avoid, was a pleasant surprise. It had a unique taste that complemented the salad perfectly. The croutons were crispy and bursting with flavor, and the lettuce was fresh, crisp, and impeccably clean—no grit, no sand, just perfection. It was evident that every ingredient was chosen with quality in mind.
Grilled Shrimp: A Masterpiece Next, I tried the grilled shrimp, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. The seasoning was spot on, enhancing the natural flavor of the shrimp without overpowering it. They were neither overcooked nor undercooked—just right. The shrimp were served on a layer of toast, which added a delightful texture and made the dish even more satisfying.
Drinks and Service As a sparkling water enthusiast, I appreciated the option of Perrier, served with a fresh lime upon request. Simple, refreshing, and exactly what I needed to complement my meal. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that my dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. The owner herself was a delight to meet, approachable, passionate, and clearly proud of her establishment. Her energy and dedication to her craft were inspiring, and it’s always a pleasure to support someone who genuinely loves what they do.
Ambiance and Atmosphere The interior of Boteco VIP is beautifully designed, reflecting the vibrant culture of Brazil. It’s cozy yet elegant , making it a perfect spot for a romantic date or a relaxed meal with friends. The location is convenient, and the restaurant has a welcoming vibe that makes you feel at home. Even during a quieter lunch hour, the energy of the place was palpable. Later in the evening, I noticed it was bustling with activity, a testament to its growing popularity.

The menu offers a variety of dishes that showcase the diverse flavors of Brazil and other parts of South America. This isn’t your typical buffet-style restaurant; every dish is made to order, ensuring freshness and quality. It’s like taking a mini-vacation to Brazil without needing a passport.

I'm not sure how long Boteco has been open, but in Myrtle Beach terms- it's still new! I don't make to the *downtown" area for a LOT of reasons, but seems like the City is trying to breathe new life into that area - and they really need to with the pavilion being gone but that's another stroy, another day.
Marnie invited me to lunch, and being from South Florida, I figured that Boteco would be right up her alley.
First time we'd both been there... and we were both impressed! I loved the vibe once inside... I loved the service. I wish I'd asked the servers name so I could properly credit her as she was polite, attentive, and extremely accommodating and deserves the shout-out!
Just there for appetizers, we had the Cheese Balls - Plantains - Pastels - and Yuca Fries. I had a fresh squeezed pineapple juice as well.
Things I really liked... The service. The cheese balls. The vibe. The Pudim. The Plantains. NO. PARKING. METERS.
What I didn't really care for.. Yuca Fries The smell outside, but that's becoming more prevalent everywhere now, I think...
But hey..don't take my word for it... check it out for yourself...and let me know...

BEST Margarita/Ranch Water along the Grand Strand. So fresh, with lots of chopped fresh lime! Very different, in a good way- very worthwhile!
The menu is quite different, with lots of interesting combinations of fresh food:) We were impressed to see that they have a few vegan and gluten free options, and they are always willing to answer questions about the menu and accommodate whenever they can. The food is fresh and good, and the chef has extensive experience; it's obvious. The pico de gallo is handmade by him, and it is DELICIOUS!!!
Just be patient; there is a bit of a language barrier. I did have to ask multiple times for the same thing, however, I am not angry. I just want to be honest. We mentioned we were on a very tight schedule and they just couldn't understand. Instead of making our meal/drinks, the chef/server/bartender/manager went back to seven or so other tasks:(. We had to cancel our order:( He seems to run the entire show, while other staff don't do much. I just don't understand why. All of them are very pleasant and willing to please. This could be a really great review, the potential is there. Some tweaking is recommended, just so...
