My goal is to fact check a negative review about this hotel, with defamatory statements, that I came across. Fact check: “I think they must have done a good job at fake reviews. I'm blown away at all the reviews I read on many platforms.” - FALSE • I can assure you they’re not fake reviews. People love this place, I love this place; and there’s no wonder ‘why’. * Note: Picky people, elitists, and royalty/“princesses” might dislike it. • If you are happy with having a decent, bug free, affordable place to stay, in a good location, with a safe/friendly/family owned environment; then this is definitely it! • Try to have realistic expectations, and this hotel will exceed them. Fact check: “there was smashed bed bug blood stains on the sheets, pee stains on the fitted sheet” • I’ve NEVER had stained sheets, they are always crisp and white. (& they actually charge you a deposit if you stain them!! So it’s hard for me to wrap my head around this statement.) Fact check: “The big pool in the photo doesn't exists… Also very messed up to post that big looking pool that isn't there smh” • The pool most DEFINITELY EXISTS (Hello? I’ve been in it. They even provide clean pool towels.) Fact check: “The place is a dump.” - FALSE. • They just renovated in the last couple years and have nice, updated rooms. Fact check: “Found a monstrous bed bug in our room… I had a picture of it.” - UNCONFIRMED Where is the photo of the “monstrous bedbug”? Why was it not posted on here in the photos? (Bed bugs only get so big by the way; I’ve never seen one so big that I’d go so far as to call it monstrous). To be honest, I’ve NEVER seen bed bugs at this hotel. Most hotels, even the most expensive ones, have them though. I’ve even looked them up before, and there’s not been any reported outbreaks; I was very surprised. (Yes there’s a site.) Fact check: “Looks like the baseboards and corners haven't been touched ever .” • If you want a spotless BEACH MOTEL (keep in mind; beach = SAND) then you need to expect to pay a higher price for one. (Finding one with a KITCHEN, FRIDGE, POOL, almost ocean view/boardwalk and FREE PARKING will be very difficult, though) • Expect sand and dirt to be present in a very decently priced motel!! - Again, Try to have REALISTIC expectations, and this hotel will exceed them! • Don’t like sand or dirt? Just clean it yourself, like I do. I stayed a week here before; and of course you’re going to need to clean some, to keep the room tidy, if you’re a ‘clean person’. As far as I know, there is no cleaning ‘room service’; but if you regularly clean at your own house, then cleaning is no real big issue there. Just wipe surfaces down, and you’re done. I hope this helped to dispel some of the rumors, by enlightening you with what I know of this place. It’s honestly disheartening and shameful when people try to discredit/destroy nice, family owned businesses with nasty reviews. ( ::sarcasm ahead:: - Because that’s what we need, right?.. to get rid of all the variety in life. We need more bland, sterile, lifeless company-owned hotel rooms with no personality; whom overwork their employees, for close to nothing in return.) I honestly personally could NEVER bring myself to post a nasty review about this hotel; especially when there are so many good aspects about it.. I can easily overlook a few minor issues! The only real issues we’ve ever had: • there are only stairs; there is no elevator • one time, the AC couldn’t keep up, in our room - But they were very friendly and accommodating on both issues. • For the AC, they moved us to another room. • For the stairs, (I have difficulty walking, as I’m disabled) you can just ask them, up front, if they can accommodate you! I literally love this place and have gone here for YEARS with our family. ( I took my “babymoon” when I was pregnant, and honeymoon here, etc etc etc.) We’ll never go to another hotel, unless they raise the prices. 👌🏻 Here’s to more happy years to come! 🍻🥂

This is an email that I sent to the Midtown Inn on July 13th 2024 , we never received a response back . This was my email to them : We were staying at the midtown Inn and had a question regarding our stay . I had reserved a room for four nights . We were coming from NY . Unfortunately our flight was delayed and we were not able to come on Thursday night due to our flight being delayed and we had to stay in North Carolina at the airport on the floor, for 8 hours due to the flight being delayed which is something out of our control. I called a couple of different times respectfully to inform your establishment we would be late coming in firstly . As soon as we found out that our flight would be delayed and we would not arrive until the next day I also called and informed the gentleman that answered . We did arrive finally yesterday (7/12/24) at around 9:30 am and upon arrival we were told that we would not be at least refunded for the first night , ( even though we were not even here) and I also called and informed them of our dilemma which was out of our control. The woman informed us that the “deposit” that was taken from my card was going towards the first night of stay ( which we were not here) and I would not be getting my money back . If you could please explain to me or give me some clarity as to why I could not be refunded for the first night even though I called a couple of times prior to arriving about our flight arrangements and then being delayed until the next day. I thought taking the “deposit “ was to hold the room ? This was the email I sent without a reply. ******We came to bring my nephew ashes here as he passed away last year on 7/12/23 in Myrtle beach South Carolina ( not at this establishment). ***** The lady that was cleaning the rooms we saw her throw the mop water from cleaning a room , and she threw it in the area of the chess game and table area . NO WIFI IN THE REGULAR ROOMS OUTLETS WE HAD TO UNPLUG THE LIGHTS TO PLUG IN OUR DEVICES could hear the people in the connecting door washing dishes talking and cooking Couldn’t close curtain all the way we had to keep the chair against the door so noone could look in our room . Headboard wasn’t properly bolted to wall Dirt and garbage under the beds I have also added photos of our room and the state it was in . There was tissue in the peep hole; mold on the curtain ; a clip of some sort holding the curtain up. Stains on the bedskirts . As you can see in the photos .

This is an older motel building. It is not upscale fancy like the new chain hotels-so just know and understand that up front. At check-in, the employee was very nice, friendly, and welcoming! He said people call him Country for his name. Check-in was easy and smooth. There is no elevator, so be prepared to carry all your luggage and items up the stairs. The entrance to rooms and the stairwell are outside, but both are covered. There is an ice machine on ground floor to use that is no extra charge. It was nice to use to fill up our beach cooler bag before heading down to the beach each day. Our room was clean, clean sheets, smelled nice and clean. The ac worked well. We had a room with a kitchen and all was well with that. The kitchen was furnished with a sheet pan, a couple of pots & pans, a cutting board, some silverware, toaster, spatulas, and other utensils to cook with. I recommend washing anything you use, before using it. Some of the utensils looked dirty from the last guests. Bring a sponge or something to wash dishes with, and a potholder for hot pans if you plan on using the oven. The office has a towel exchange anytime the office is open. Just bring down the dirty ones and they will give a new stack of clean ones. Our first night there was kind of noisy. Lots of guests coming and going from rooms, out on balcony making general noise. Someone was smoking pot and it drifted onto our walkway outside our room and thru the bathroom vent. So it smelled bad outside and inside the room. The office has a strict rule about no smoking of pot anywhere on the property. The employee working that night was aware of the issue and attempted to track down the guests engaging in that activity but was unsuccessful. It is about 2-3 blocks back from the beach access so it is not beachfront. The parking lot is small but it is an older motel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there. It met our needs for this vacation trip. We had no other problems. This motel is a nice walking distance for all the activities and boardwalk. Pictures added to show the view from outside our room in 2nd floor.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would!!! Please save yourself time and money. This place is filthy, it feels like the people that are there are not guests but residents, this place has the feel of a welfare hotel! The will kick you out for no reason at all and call the cops on you, they did nothing when they came because we did nothing!!! (probably because we were people of color). we were afraid to stay there at this point so we just left and had to stay in our car for a couple of hours til we found a different hotel and spent another $1200 for the rest of our vacation but well worth it! The wash rags and towels have lil black dots on them we just cleaned our shoes with them after walking in all the dirt surrounding the place, the sheets are filthy, we had to sleep on our towels that we bought with us, we took showers on our shoes. I wouldn't even attempt to get in the pools!! The grounds are unkept, one of the residents that live there with a motorcycle revved it all day and nothing was said to him, they played loud music all day. Bottom line, the conditions are deplorable and should not be renting to anyone!!! Some of the cottages have iron bunk beds in them and there was a posting that said "no visitors after 11pm, that's not what you say to guests but to residents! That's how I know people might live in them!! The only good thing that came out of this stay is being asked to leave (for no reason at all)!!! I am telling you save your money, you will regret it in the end!!! Because I can not respond to your reply, I will address it here! You tried to kick us out, even calling the police, however we were not removed because we did not do anything wrong!!! That is just your ploy to try and steal out money. How many other "guests" you pulled this non-sense on???? why weren't re arrested or removed when you called the cops??? Because we did nothing wrong. Those people that probably live there make noise all day long but my husband and I had a disagreement off of your property and you TRIED to kick us out, we left on our own with the promise we will get a refund I am still fighting to get!! But I can only imagine that was you ploy to steal our money!! You definitely give off racist vibes!!!! I also have video talking to the police who DID NOT REMOVE US (I will be using this video if I have to take you to court) I'm just telling you my experience, however if you want to waste money or get it stolen from you for some made up disturbance that's totally up to you. But you will be making a mistake you will regret, even the picture of the pool is misleading...very dirty place and if it is any good reviews they were probably relatives! TRUST ME! Then you pull out a envelope claiming to have $10,000 in it, I can only imagine it's probably money that was stolen trying to kick out people with the promise of returning their money!!! I'm still fighting to get mine back, or did you add that to the envelope also??

Update, fight to stay, BS! We were just making a point that you wanted that room for another person that was checking in as you kicked us out and tried to keep out money, however I did receive a FULL REFUND I should have gotten more! before we got there the front desk person called us several times to see if we were still coming...why did that matter, we paid in full up front...that room was probably already rented before we got there...You are despicable person, you and your family...don't care about nothing but that envelope of money you probably stole from kicking other out!!!

Update, I only responded to your update of the great reviews...nonsense! If there is any great reviews it came from family member or the residents that live at your welfare hotel!! (allegedly)...If your hotel was that great you wouldn't have to defend it, don't see the hilton responding to bad review...!!! and if I'm lying about your so called allegations why did I get a full refund???? when clearly disturbance is in your contract and will not get any refund..please exlain???...

Again, Try to have REALISTIC expectations, and this hotel will exceed them!

The only real issues we’ve ever had: • there are only stairs; there is no elevator • one time, the AC couldn’t keep up, in our room But they were very friendly and accommodating on both issues. • For the AC, they moved us to another room. • For the stairs, (I have difficulty walking, as I’m disabled) you can just ask them, up front, if they can accommodate you!

I literally love this place and have gone here for YEARS with our family. ( I took my “babymoon” when I was pregnant, and honeymoon here, etc etc etc.)

We’ll never go to another hotel, unless they raise the prices. 👌🏻

Here’s to more happy years...

**We came to bring my nephew ashes here as he passed away last year on 7/12/23 in Myrtle beach South Carolina ( not at this establishment). *

The lady that was cleaning the rooms we saw her throw the mop water from cleaning a room , and she threw it in the area of the chess game and table area . As you can see in...
