Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo many good reviews, so I took my family hoping for some real BBQ. BBQ and Greek? Huh? Which are you? I was confused by the menu, but the guy was nice enough to help me through the process. Wife got Ribs and Fries and I got Combo with Pulled Pork/Brisket with Grecian Potatoes.
We go sit down and I grabbed high chairs for our twin girls. The chairs were really sticky. When I got them to the table, I went to move the table a bit and the table was all sticky. They could use so deep cleaning there and little alarm bells were going off my head. They called our number so I grabbed our food and sat down and did the ole' Gordon Ramsay blessing. "Please do not let me get food poisoning." The food was ok... I wanted some real BBQ with some real wood fire smoke flavor. The ribs had it, but not the rest.
So, we leave and as soon as I step outside my stomach started to hurt. Then my wife's too. We get home and she runs to the bathroom. Right now it is 6am as I write this. She finally just fell asleep after being up all night with out kids taking care of them. One has been throwing up and both having serious stomach pains. It is hard to comfort them when I too am in pain.
Thank you for not only serving a disappointing meal, but also for keeping us up all night with stomach issues. That means this will also ruin my day off from work today. I will never be back again. I was going to email them with my reviews, but they do not have an email address on their website. I will also be posting on every day review place I can find since I am really tired and pissed...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUPDATE: Since my review. I will admit they have improved. However, I still don't understand how they can say in their reply below that they never claimed they smoke their ribs. The place is called "wood Pit". Behind the building are piles of stacked wood behind a fence and smoke coming from a stack on the roof. If they are not actually smoking the meat, put all that wood to use and smoke away!
This was our go to place for a long time. And, being from Nashville, I know my BBQ. Unfortunately, the place has really dropped in quality in the past few months. I have no idea what is happening but the BBQ is becoming tasteless and not cooked/smoked properly. Haven't said anything since I know meat can be difficult to smoke and be consistent every time. But, it would be close. The icing on the cake was today with our carry out. I had brisket that taste like overcooked roast beef. No smoke flavor, rub and no smoke ring (the sign of properly smoked meat) so I know it was not properly smoked. It was also tougher than roast beef! That is far from a brisket. The ribs are much smaller than the used to be. Must be buying a cheaper product. No smoke ring on those as well and very little rub. They seem to be hiding this by using lots of sauce. We also had an order of ribs that were way over cooked. It would take too long to go into details of knowing the authentic method of smoking however, I know it and so do they. Some city slickers think this is real, authentic BBQ but it is not as...
