I'd love to say that this place is a 5 star on the food quality alone but there are two parts to this review and I'd like to be fair and honest to the establishment and anyone curious about what to expect.
The food quality is something I'd consider a 4 out of 5. Not the best you'll have in regards to Thai food but they do a pretty good job of keeping things flavorful (I'd say one of their issues is somewhat greasier food than you would expect from traditional Thai). They do offer various spice levels with most of their entrees and I have noticed that asking for medium spice and extra spice can be the same in some cases and reversed in others - it's really a toss-up and so if you're someone who is sensitive to spice, you ask for no or low spice and you should be in a good spot (hopefully).
Food Quality - B+ (use less grease!) Spice consistency - B- Food Variety - A
The service, on the other hand, is where this place struggles. Not necessarily for most anyone in the business outside the young adult who seems to be a manager and potentially son/nephew of an owner.
On several occasions, they mistakenly gave us chicken pot stickers instead of veggie (we even took pictures and let them know). In some cases, they asked for us to return them, in some cases they offered a credit on the next order (never a refund on current order). We weren't too annoyed by this but after 3-4 times, it became somewhat a nuisance.
Fast forward to the 5th time we ordered (we were ordering from them once every 1-2 weeks at this point). I had ordered veggie pot stickers and mentioned that we had it messed up the past few times and the person on the phone said they'd make sure they're correctly made this time. I went in to pick it up and unfortunately the pot stickers were not even included in the order (and there was a charge for them, even though we had mentioned the ongoing pot stickers issue). So, this time I was curious why we were charged AND the stickers weren't included. The young adult mentioned that they had run out and he could refund us "if we wanted".
Well, I was more annoyed by this option and I was making a point about how we had not received our stickers and yes, I wanted a refund but also, why let someone order something and then come to pick it up only to not actually have the food included? He then said "ok I'm done" and walked away. At this point, he walked into the kitchen and an older adult came out and asked what the problem was. I mentioned that I had over the course of several visits continuously received the wrong item and he said that he had run out and at this point, he walked into the back, "found" some vegetarian pot stickers and came out and provided them to us. He said "you good now, boss?"
That was the last time we visited this place and at some point, maybe we'll go back as their food is good quality but the lackadaisical management causes me concerns.. if you can't treat someone you've wronged so many times with at least an apology or possibly refunding them for something you're not providing - you lack some basic business skills and it's evident from others on these reviews that mention that the management has been disrespectful or rude. Also, it might be worthwhile to have the young kid who claims to be a manager to go through some training because it'd be terrible to have this place receive poor reviews due to...
Read moreI moved to the Naperville area about 6 months ago and have been a regular here ever since until a few days ago. Last Friday, I called in to place an order for pick up. However, something came up and I had to take care of it so was unavailable to answer my phone. After it had been an hour since I called to place my order, the restaurant called me SEVERAL times and from a few different numbers as well. When I was done taking care of a personal last minute situation and remembered I had called in the food, I called the restaurant to sincerely apologize and was honest about the fact that I couldn’t pick up the food since I was now having to travel to the city. After being a consistent and reliable customer, an older gentleman with a heavy accent got on the phone and told me in a very rude manner to never come back here and do not call to place an order. I was not welcome to come back. They did not care why I was unable to pick up the food and I completely understand that this is a business BUT YOU DO NOT TREAT CUSTOMERS THIS WAY!! I will never come back and refuse to support this establishment. He should have been understanding and professional about it but did not care. I picked up my food as promised the previous 30 times but that fact was not a factor to them. Will not be returning or recommending this joke to my friends or...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Chicagoland area! Food is always tasty and hot (been here at least 30 times). These guys learned from the best, as I have eaten at their parent’s Thai Happiness restaurant for 15 years before they closed. The pad Thai, pad see ewe, pad kee mow, egg rolls, spring rolls, and Tom yum soup are all very good! If you haven’t had Tom yum soup before, then try it here (with chicken). The prices have gone up recently, making this one of the most expensive carry out dinners for my family of four. That said, prices are going up at all restaurants during pandemic times.
Yes, they are carry out only during the pandemic, so be ready with your credit card when placing an order. (Don’t give them one star because you called from the car and didn’t have your credit card ready).
Their customer service has been fine and they have always...
