Bonta’ Bakery — Restaurant in Naples

Editing my original post - I'm not sure what happened in the last 6 months but the service at Bonta Bakery has improved tremendously!! The counter people acknowledge the customers and are very pleasant. Now that we have been able to try the food - it is absolutely amazing. Everything is fresh and delicious. The gelato is the best on 5th Ave. in my opinion, and believe me I've tried them all!! I upgraded my original rating to a 5 star and it is well deserved!

First off let me just state that my husband and I live here year round and patronize all the restaurants regularly. In my opinion the service here needs to be addressed before this place will gain any traction.. I can’t rate the food because after waiting in line without anyone acknowledging my husband and me we left. The people behind us left as well. The 2 staff members at the counter were both waiting on one customer who came in after us. There was no acknowledgement or eye contact. This is without question, one of THE BEST food venues if not the best in Naples FL or anywhere else for that matter. On my first visit my wife and I tried (in no particular order) the prosciutto sandwich, fried chicken sandwich, arugula olive topped pizza, cream filled bombolone, cream puff, pistachio tiramisu, stogliatelle, expresso. Trust me I could have ordered 5 more items cause everything is not only beautifully presented but absolutely delicious. Every detail on every item was spot on. From the quality of ingredients to the perfectly baked breads and pastries. When I write a review I don’t think I have ever not had something to say about something they could in my opinion improve on. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Staff was so pleasant. There is free garage parking behind the building with an outdoor walk through. This place is a gem, and the amount of people buying food while we were there is a testament to that. Walking into Bontà Bakery is like stepping into a little corner of Naples, Italy. It instantly brings me back to childhood memories of visiting my family there, the smell, the sights, the flavors, everything feels authentic and made with love. Every single item looks so fresh and inviting that it’s hard to choose just one. You truly do want to try everything. One of our absolute favorites is the pistachio cream-filled croissant, flaky, rich, and absolutely divine. Their pizza, whether it's the classic cheese or topped with fresh veggies, is out of this world. The focaccia varieties are just as amazing light, flavorful, and perfect with any meal. And that’s not all they also offer a wonderful selection of pastries, gelato, and specialty coffees that rival anything you'd find in Italy.
