🍣 Sushi Thai Downtown – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – Where chopsticks become wands, and soy sauce is basically holy water. 🥢✨
So picture this: I’m wandering downtown Naples, sunburnt, mildly hangry, and contemplating whether life has any meaning beyond lukewarm Starbucks and regret. 😩☀️
Suddenly — BAM — I see the glowing sign: “Sushi Thai.” Two magical words that together sound like a cultural flavor explosion and a potential stomach adventure. Spoiler alert: it was both. 🎌🇹🇭💥
👘 The Vibe: It’s like your chill artsy friend who listens to lo-fi beats and makes killer dumplings invited you over. Cozy, clean, and filled with people who pretend they understand sushi menus but just point and pray. 🙋♂️📜
🍱 The Food: I ordered the Dragon Roll, because I’m not here to play it safe — and I swear, it roared before I ate it. 🐉🔥 Then I tried the Pad Thai, and my eyes rolled so far back I briefly time-traveled to a Bangkok street market. Every bite was like a tiny vacation for my soul. I even caught myself whispering, “I love you” to a piece of sashimi. My date was jealous. 😂🍤
😇 The Staff: Our waiter had the calm patience of a monk and the menu knowledge of a sushi-savant with a PhD in “Delicious.” He recommended a lychee martini, and I felt my chakras realign. 💫🍸 By dessert, I was smiling so hard my cheeks filed for workers’ comp.
💡 Anecdote Moment: Mid-meal, I dropped my chopsticks in dramatic fashion — full floor splat. Before I could even perform my Oscar-worthy apology, the server ninja’d in with a new pair like “Fear not, sushi warrior, your quest continues.” I almost applauded. 🙌🥷🥢
💸 The Bill: Look, it’s not dollar-menu sushi — and thank the raw fish gods for that. Every penny felt like an investment in joy, mental health, and wasabi-induced enlightenment. 🌿💚
🎤 Final Thoughts: If you’re in downtown Naples and don’t go to Sushi Thai, I can’t trust your judgment or your taste buds.
5 stars, zero regrets, and one very full, very happy sushi convert.
Will I return? Only every time I need a spiritual awakening via seaweed and...
Read moreArrived at restaurant for lunch. 3 adults, one child 18 months old and other child 5 years old. We were seated very fast but took about 15 min for a server to come to table. We had to ask busser named Nata for a server after 10 minutes of waiting. The food was “ok” and nothing spectacular. Naples really does not have great sushi restaurants as compared to other cities. We had sushi and poke bowl. I am writing this review to warn others to pay attention to the check. They included a 20 percent gratuity on my bill. They also left the section on the bill blank to write in tip amount. If you are in a hurry and don’t read the details you will be paying more than you anticipated. I left a 15 percent tip due to the bad service and this was probably too much. I paid the bill cash and did not pay the 20 percent they added without my knowledge. Note - the server did not inform us the bill would have 20 percent added automatically. The server counted the cash then said I did not pay enough. I told them service was bad and I refused to pay 20 percent. The server said the reason for 20 percent added automatically was due to having a party of 5. At that moment I demanded to speak to manager. The manager told me we had 5 people. I laughed and said “you counted my 18 month old child and 5 year old child who did not even order a food item or plate. They had two drinks only. Just be aware I feel this is deceptive business practice. Upon writing this review I noticed others have complained with the service. I will give great compliment of the “busser” named Nata. He is the one who seated us with a great smile. He also helped us when the servers ignored us and was more attentive than the servers. I will say thanks Nata and no thanks to restaurant. I hope the management notices what a great...
Read moreSushi here is fantastic. Absolutely delicious, the only thing that isn’t fantastic is the wait staff. Un-attentive to my table and rude after my family and I had lunch. Being that I use to be a server, I always tip well over 20% but the fact that my server was rude to me and my family and guest and unattentive, I gave nothing. Yet another staff member had the audacity to follow my family and I off the premises to then confront and question me about how much I left on the bill and after explaining that I know what I put, she had the audacity to tell me that I should only order food to go or pick up.
Tipping is not required and it’s not because you come in and sit down. No one is entitled to any form of tip, if you provide satisfactory service, I’ll tip. If above and beyond even more but if I feel neglected, disrespected I am suppose to tip even something? No.
I use to be a server and I know that the service industry is hard. But the one thing about serving is to treat your customers/guest/patrons with respect. This location showed a lack of such and therefore the tip given ($0) is reflective of that. If your servers have an issue and that behavior is condoned at this establishment than maybe you should pay your employees a liveable wage or train them on the etiquette of how to treat their guest because tipping is not customary or an etiquette that HAS to be followed. It’s an option and an option swayed by how the experience was in the...
