I literally HATE writing a negative review, because my last bad experience I preached that I donāt write bad reviews, but this is ridiculous...
Great beer selection at all times and great food, but I just need to voice my annoyance.
If you look at my review history, Iām not lying that I write good reviews when theyāre due!
My husband and I came here (weāve been here a bunch of time and it was great most of the time) and we wanted a pizza.
We order our two beers and the pizza right away to avoid delay due to being starving and almost 5pm.
When I say ALMOST 5 I mean probably 430-445.
550 rolls around and we ask for the check and inquire the whereabouts of the pizza we ordered over an hour ago.
The manager, whom we placed the order with, looked in shock and asked the cook staff where our pizza was, and they never got the ticket.
Mostly because she was going on break and forgot to put it in.
PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES! I completely get it, no worries we are all human.
Well we ordered four beers between the both of us while waiting, which we did not actually WANT. If we were going to drink we would have stayed home, we came for the pizza. Nothing was comped for waiting over an hour and spending $30 on four beers we only got to buy time while the pizza was being cooked. We ordered well done which is why we waited as long as we did.
Then she says āhope I didnāt ruin your dinner plansā while we signed the check for $30 for four beers we did not even want.
I get human error, but seriously, customer service...
Iām just shocked this is the second time Iāve been here and this has happened to us.
When we come for beer, itās great.
Handful of times we ended up getting a pizza and it was great.
Just two times is annoying enough to complain when nothing is done to better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's always a little weird to walk through Whole Foods to go to a bar, but the tap list at J. Bartlett's is genuinely one of the best in Southern NH. They feature several dozen beers on draft, most of them from local brewers, and while they do have the typical abundance of hoppy IPAs they also have things like pilsner, helles, porters, and stouts, enough to make up a few different flights of non-IPAs. The vibe is very relaxed, and you can have food while you enjoy a drink. I wish it were a little bit larger so it didn't feel so much like a vestigial limb to the Whole Foods it's connected to, but overall it's a great...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreService is always good, though it can get busy with with after-work crowd. The food is great, I definitely recommend one of the sandwiches or the BBQ combos. You can tell the food is all freshly made. The beer selection is excellent and they often cycle out beers. Many local or specialty beers are often on tap! Even harder to find choices or limited time runs can sometimes be found here. For non-beer drinkers, there is a wine selection but it is a bit pricey and this isn't a full service bar so no cocktails. They also have a variety of board/card games available which can be a lot of fun to play...
