Well, this place is interesting. It has the look and feel of a really really cool spot, but the inside leaves something to be desired. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the aesthetic. There are attractive people here who usually have some sense of style which is almost nonexistent in Nashville. The music is good. Sometimes they have DJ sets. Drinks are good and bartenders are nice. It's very busy on the weekends. I've heard bad things about a female bouncer here at the front of the venue, but I've never had a problem.
You would think this space would be queer friendly, but most everyone is hetero. I see a lot of travelers here. This place is way cooler than Broadway, obviously. But, at the same time it's just not that much fun to me. I find the people here dull and the vibes are too low-key on the weekend. No-one gets rowdy and the dancing is minimal. They keep the capacity down, so it's not really that busy inside. I guess I'm just into more energy. This place makes me sleepy.
It's huge. It has 2 indoor portions and 2 outdoor portions. It has multiple levels. There's multi colored lighting, too. The line gets really long after like 11:30p on the weekend, so watch out. Although, if you're clever, you can hop the fence on one side and sneak in through the open gate that people exit through teehee. It reminds me of Austin or Los Angeles. Like, it's cool... But then you get inside and it's lame? Idk how to describe it... There's nothing particularly special about it, but for Nashville it's cool. Like, where else are you going to go? Broadway? LOL. Flamingo has a similar vibe, but people actually...
Read moreI have a medical condition where I am prone to fainting and seizures. This is a well-documented illness, and last night, I had a particularly dangerous episode. I fainted in the bar and then was unconscious for about 2 minutes. I understand that from the outside looking in, it seemed as though I was just a young woman that got too drunk. Immediately, they attempted to pick me up and throw me out of the bar. This is problematic for a number of reasons. 1) It is NEVER okay to touch a person without their consent, and I was in no way able to speak or give consent. 2) Thankfully I wasn't, but what if I lost consciousness because I was drugged or genuinely just extremely drunk? Is the best option really to kick the 23-year-old woman out of the bar onto the street? When my boyfriend and friends came to explain the situation, they were met with hostility. The bouncers had no regard for my health or safety and threw me out of the bar before I even gained consciousness again. I never leave reviews for bars or restaurants because I know how thankless service jobs are. However, I wanted to make it abundantly clear that what happened last night is never okay. An ambulance should have been called immediately, and no one should have tried to touch or move me. For the sake of women and men that come into your establishment, please do better. No liability paperwork or social pressure is worth a human being's...
Read moreI would give this place zero stars if I could. The aesthetic and environment of the bar is a 12/10. But that's about where it stops. They had 2 bartenders behind the bar on a Saturday night. And I understand staffing can be an issue, but these bartenders were taking their good ol time. I went with 2 friends. One of my friends was served immediately, then the bartender moved onto a different group, and eventually served my other friend about 10 minutes later. He then skipped to another group and I was standing there for over 10 more minutes. This guy walked up next to me and immediately started chatting with the bartender (said he saw him at some other venue) and then his drink order was taken...while I was standing right there for over 20 minutes at this point. And I wasn't the only person passed over in favor of his guy who JUST showed up. Absolutely ridiculous. It was obvious me and my friends were together, I don't know why the bartender kept bouncing around to different groups. Also horrible music, not one person was dancing. Don't go here. Broadway might be the "basic" thing to do but it was certainly more enjoyable than this. The bartender also didn't know how to make a Sex on the Beach, seriously I could've done a better job bartending. A good aesthetic can only get you so far, I will never...
