You'll need more than one Texas sized appetite for this place! This place has a unique flavor in true class. The meal today had pulled pork, ribs, brisket doubled up, burnt ends, baked beans, mac n cheese, cole slaw, grits casserole, banana pudding and cornbread. Where to start but at the beginning...

Pulled pork is tricky, often by the time is served it's dried and gets worse by the end, that didn't happen here. Good smoke lines and great bark, the flavor is fantastic without needing any sauce.

The ribs had dry rub and sauce which isn't common in Oklahoma, I was worried the meat and wood wouldn't shine and I'll admit I was wrong. Tender meat with the bone easy to coax out, balanced flavor between the meat, smoke, rub, and sauce. Bravo for that! I cleaned the bones.

The brisket surprised me, the smoke was subtle and the ring thin... I doubted it I won't lie. However it was tender and had it's juice, the beef sang and right towards the back end you could taste the sweetness with a bit of bite. I found it what the mix of wood was however I won't tell you. You'll have to go find out just how worth it this brisket is.

The burnt ends were fantastic, taking an already amazing brisket and adding a sauce that doesn't overwhelm and caramelizes perfect. You could eat a whole bowl of it.

The baked beans were full of flavor.. and pulled pork. What's more to say! Massive flavor that'll smack your cheeks!!

The cole slaw surprises again with the addition of green peppers and a vinegar marinade which I won't disclose because I don't know what's secret haha! That said it was crunchy and balanced and the first sweet slaw I loved. Gimme some more!!!

Grits casserole... I could eat this alone for a week solid... Throw it on a nice slice of the delicious and moist cornbread or even treat it like vegan boudin on saltines with hot sauce. Unapologetically spicy, savory and cheesy give it to me all day long!

Now we get to the parts you can call many things, I prefer positive critique. The Mac n cheese was delicious and cheesy with great flavor. The one reservation is the pasta was likely perfectly done before it was baked, after banking or was over cooked, fix that and it's perfect!

The banana pudding was delicious and sweet, had plenty of banana after a bit of digging, however I was missing the delicious crunch of vanilla wafers. Crush em up and put some on top or even just stab two in, without it it was good but it could have been worth fighting for the last serving. So close!

Top all this off with great drinks, atmosphere, and friendly wait staff and you have a place worth going to weekly!

That said will I go again!?? Hell yeah!!! I'll remember Edleys as my go to for a taste of BBQ done their way! Nashville should be proud!

Oh and just make sure to wait till your inside to scan for free parking at the metropolis parking lot by the...

I was pretty excited to try this restaurant as I am from out of town, and it came recommended by a friend. As such, I geared up and trekked across town in truly crappy weather, catching heavy rain from the spin off of a hurricane making landfall in the Gulf. Yeah, I love BBQ, so the hurricane and flooding were just part of the adventure. After getting soaked in the monsoon and nearly drowning fording a couple flooded curbs to check the place out, I was disappointed to find their BBQ must have been really fantastic because they said they were sold out of brisket...and ribs...and chicken. In fact, half the menu was sold out by 8 PM, but thankfully, they still had pork and hot chicken. The food that was still available was decent, but I was shorted on a side and utensils, so I had to chase a guy down to get it corrected.

By this point, I was a soggy mess, but I had committed to accomplishing eating the BBQ I set out for. As such, I figured I'd take the edge off and head up to the bar to buy a drink. They don't have waiters, so you have to order yourself. The bar was where things went really sideways. Being the only person at the entire bar, I was feeling pretty good about getting blown off by the bartender chatting up what I guess was his girlfriend. I get it, but seriously, put the side chat on hold and grab me a damn drink will you! I finally ordered and then was trying to stay positive as he made it with the mixologist's skill of a college frat beer server. Adding to the insult, the house bourbon he offered was Evan Williams, which was kind of like kicking me in the balls twice. I passed and went for the Bullet. That said, it was what it was. I paid, but the bartender asked me if I wanted to keep the tab open. Thinking I'd need another based on how things were going, I agreed. However, despite being one of only a half dozen people in the restaurant and sitting in front of the bar tender, he closed out my tab in about 30 minutes without even asking if I wanted another. Mind you, the place was dead and there was still an hour before close. This would have been fine, but he took the liberty to add a 20% gratuity. Not only is that theft, but it's a damn hustle. I can handle a bad drink and even would have still tipped, but the presumptuous self-assignment of a 20% tip on my tab was a bit too damn much. One star for hustling customers. The place was badly over-rated and I...

I was looking forward to some good southern Nashville bbq food and came across this place as it has high survey count and good ratings. Well….that was a dousy. Extremely disappointed and I’d never go back. Here are the list of the issues I encountered and why it’s should get a zero rating.

This was on Fri 7/21 @5pm.

The location address on google/apple map are in 2 different areas. The apple map location takes you to the location where they were previously located. It’s About 5 min drive to the new location to which the signage is terrible and not noticeable when driving on the adjacent street. Brought it up to “Cody” on my arrival who I think was the mgr., caucasian gentleman with a fitted hat(he was taking orders). He stated ”nothing they can do about it-it’s google,I wish I could” great answer. You actually can have it removed and you should do research before responding in a dismissive manner and inconveniencing customers. After ordering you seek your own table and that’s fine. I had to clean my table with paper towels from another table because my table didn’t have any. I also had to remove 3 beer bottles from previous customers who were sitting. So that was fun. Arriving to a dirty table with no one insight to assist. Looks like that was a consistent theme with other tables. The food-super underwhelming and taste like fast food bbq. Burnt ends were all fat, sausage plate looked like it needed more sides and the wings were terrible. The cornbread was rock hard. The plates looked empty on arrival. Poor representation of food. Not sure why this place gets any “great recommendation” on food. If you’ve had really Bbq, you will know this is not it. The cooks who I could see from where I was sitting, didn’t have on gloves or hairnets and were literally hovering over the food as it waited to be taken for tables . The bartender looked drunk and proceeded to make inappropriate jokes to me as I ordered my drinks.

There are plenty of other places for great bbq food in Nashville. Don’t waste...

Really good BBQ!!! I was headed downtown to another place but the line was 3 people thick and 50 feet out the door. So at the recommendation of a local friend I headed to Edley’s. Boy am I happy I did! I ordered the brisket plate with Cole slaw and grits. Everything was amazing! I like my brisket moist/fatty. They served it up to perfection! Good bark on it and the meat melted in my mouth. Life doesn’t get any better than that! The meat is drizzled with their house BBQ sauce and topped with 3 pickle slices. The BBQ sauce was very good. I might buy a bottle next time I’m in town and check my suitcase. The plate was served with cornbread (a little dry for my taste) and 2 sides. The Cole slaw has got to be one of the best I have ever had! It is vinegar based, not Mayo. That’s just how I like it. Great tangy and fresh crispness in the bite. I actually drank the rest of the vinegar after I finished the slaw. It was THAT good! I also tried the grits. I was torn between the grits and the baked beans. OMG, the grits were amazing. So good, not too cheesy, and great flavors. I usually add Tabasco to my grits. Didn’t need to add anything to these. I also grabbed a brownie cake for dessert. Boy was it rich. It was a probably 3 or 4 inch squared piece and I couldn’t finish it. Defiantly good size to share. Cool atmosphere that definitely gives you the feeling of being in a barbecue joint, without the lasting scent in your clothes. Quite a few TVs around if you want to watch a game. Decent size bar as well as patio seating. It’s order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Service was very friendly and one of the guys was very attentive. He was brewing new iced tea when I went for a refill and he said he would come find me when it’s ready. Great service!!! And the price was pretty reasonable for great BBQ. They have multiple locations, and I am sure they all serve up the same great taste with the same great friendly service.

Family of 5 stopped here today 7/9/20 on our way from St. Louis to the Smokey Mountains. We arrived just about 12:30 and were very happy with their COVID response tactics. To be honest, we have not eaten out in a restaurant since this all hit and we were looking for reviews of great bbq places in Nashville that were taking proper precautions. Edley's had a few great reviews that outlined what they had done to help slow the spread, and this made my wife and I feel comfortable and I'm glad we stopped. Tables were spread out.. masks were worn by all when not at their table, and to be honest, they made it super easy to be "compliant". Aside for the proper precautions, the food was spot on. We have a picky eater in our family and she loved the simple kids menu with chicken tenders while the rest of us enjoyed some of their great takes on BBQ dishes. Pork nachos with thinly sliced potato chips instead of traditional nacho chips was a nice touch and the brisket was amazing. We loved the banana pudding, cornbread, and while the mac and cheese was good, it was our least favorite of the whole meal. Also, the lady who took our order was especially nice and attentive, as well as the person that was cleaning up and asked twice how the meal was. He was working hard the whole time we were there making sure tables were clean, taking out trash, and asking about orders like I mentioned before. Give that guy a raise. Thanks for making our first trek out of the house very comfortable and safe for my family. I wish you continued good luck.
